Recently a couple servers on Diablo Immortal got together and decided to create a new clan on Town Portal as we’ve largely given up the hope that Diablo would do what is necessary and once more combine all the servers to keep competition alive (right now clans are simply trading who is Immortal based off of clan agreements).
Anyways, just transferred last week an already we got attacked by people completely abusing the reporting system to viciously attack their competition, and upon appeal Diablo did nothing to remedy the situation but chose to keep an unjust ban in place on a reason that is purely BS. Due to this, and the player in question being the leader of the clan an the only one able to sign the clan up for shadow wars, the entire clan is being heavily punished by Blizzard itself for backing BS behavior.
The leader in question is LongStrokes of the clan Hardcore. The reason for the ban as everyone knows is that the name LongStrokes was reported as being obscene.
Let’s talk about this. Nothing at all is wrong with name LongStrokes. Only when someone chooses to selectively choose how it could represent cold possibly change it into being the least bit obscene. Long Strokes, what does it mean? Stroking one’s longs member? Playing golf, and making long drives? Being part of a competitive rowing team? Petting one’s cat? Obviously, the only way it is the least bit obscene is by someone with a filthy mind calling it as such. Upon having the incident reviewed (two weeks ban, and no longer to use a name that a player has been using for a long time), surely would have cleared up the nonsense and unfrozen the account and no name change even suggested. Instead Blizzard has outright chosen to viciously attack the entire guild for a BS complaint surely issued by one who wanted to attack competition. Shame on Blizzard.
Now lets take a look at all the names that are currently playing in a game that is rated as being mature. BlackIsBigger (both racist and dirty), DirtyGranpa, SprainedAnis, and so on. These names are far worse than LongStrokes in my opinion, but I’d still point out that DirtyGrandpa could well have been created by a gardener who has grandkids.
Even the text that is commonly encountered in game chat is quite often obscene or interpretable as being such. The dirtier one’s mind is, the more the more obscene one can elect to interpret what is written relative to what was actually said.
I can only conclude that since LongSTrokes is not at all an obscene name, unless one goes clear out of the way and realm of logic to interpret it as such, and since an appeal was made over the name and the totally unjust Blizzard response, that Blizzard is at blame for purposefully siding with those attacking competition in Diablo Immortal at the expense of entire clans.
This is unacceptable.
Update: It has come to my attention that LongSTrokes name was HornyStrokes (At the moment I’m not really sure what it was without someone stating what is was). But even HornyStrokes is only obscene if one chooses to interpret it as such. Diablo is the name of a demon, and demons tend to have horns, and we play in hellish maps. Horny as such is highly appropriate. Nothing obscene about stroking horns. Only obscenity derives out of what horny, horns, strokes could be willfully misinterpreted as by filthy minds.
