BattlePass should last longer

I just reached level 40. Less than 2 weeks after the start of the Pass. Just casual gameplay ~1.5h a day on average.

If I can do it, you can too.

This kind of playing hours are clearly the reason why there are caps in the game, less than 2 days since the weekly reset lol. :joy:

As shown in Post 12 of the thread, by running dungeons with my warband members, I earned 630 BP points in 2 hours 15 minutes. That’s 630 BP in 135 minutes, or an average of 4.6666 BP per minute.

Doing five raid bosses on Monday took me under 10 minutes, for 100 BP points. That left 2300 BP to get. At the 4.6666 BP per minute rate, that’s roughly 493 minutes. 8 hours 13 minutes. Add in the 10 minutes for raids, that’s 8 hours 23 minutes. Across two days, so a little over 4 hours a day. The rest of the week, I’ll do 3 dungeons and 2 sets of bounties each day, which is 20-25 minutes.

Hell no 1 month is long enough as is.

Just chiming in.

3 weeks in I’ve hit level 62 of the Pass. Just casual gameplay. 1 more week to go.

Why should it last longer?

Tomorrow we get two events, which will have some bonus BP available…

It is extremelly easy to make 40 battle points in 28 days. All the players I know complete the pass before the 4th week. On the last week we just use the pass to level up and gain honor. You should be playing instead of complaining about it on the forum. Do dailly quests, random raids, helliquary and do the events.

The routine of the game is by week, the main events of the game happen always on the same day. This is the same for battle pass.
One year has 52 weeks.
Battle bass has 28 days, or 4 weeks.
So, in one year, you will have exactly 13 battle pass.

I do not see a problem in this. Your tips are still helpful for optimization.
To be clear, I never said it wasn’t possible or too hard to complete the BattlePass, but I do stand is still too grindy, especially for a month, which is a tight deadline. This said, I think the worse problem is to have grind to level 40 for all other characters to be able to unlock the cosmetics of ā€œArchive Storeā€, when it should be at level 15 too. I also think it sucks a lot if I change class for the character the BP cosmetic is locked for it unless I have enough coins at level 40 to unlock them; ideally all classes of my character should have the cosmetic from BP unlocked by default.
On top of that, I think there should be 100 coins for Archive Store as reward for leveling up BP after level 40, not merely some scraps and Honor coins.

Do you play other games, or work and/or study too? Just curious. Because if Diablo Immortal is the only game you ever play I can see why you are too comfortable.

But you did say…

…which suggests that it takes too long. As shown elsewhere in the thread, reaching level 15 (for the cosmetics you said you primarily care about) could be achieved in under 12 days, for a total of under 7 hours spent.

As also shown in the thread, it was possible to get 630 BP in 2 hours 15 minutes purely by running dungeons, which means you could cap out your BP in under 9 hours spent per week, even without the double-point codex tasks, quests, events and raids. As you need around 7K points to reach level 40, that means under 27 hours spent. That’s an average of less than 1 hour a day.

In my OP, I did not, I specifically said ā€œtoo shortā€, but I want to clarify I never failed to complete a BattlePass I bought. It is just that the deadline is actually short, and definitely too demandind and tiring to do the whole grinding every month. I also play Overwatch ā€œ2ā€ and Diablo IV and their BattlePasses are actually ā€œgenerousā€ enough to be completed during their duration (about 2 months), even playing casually.
Sure my older age is a factor, while I do not want to reveal it (20<x<40) I no longer have the drive to grind as I relentlessly did with GTA Online back in the day, especially from 2016 to 2018…

I do play other games too. Immortal isn’t the only thing in my life. An hour or two per day for Immortal can easily net you enough BP points to reach level 70+ of the Pass.

If you can’t reach even level 40 in a month, what the hell are you wasting your time in Immortal?

This is a reasonable question. Like I just said in my latest reply, I never failed to complete a BattlePass I bought, but it is really boring to me. Maybe I just do not like Diablo Immortal that much anymore, out of boredom. I feel like the BattlePass forces me to play the game more than I really want to.
On the other hand, a game like Overwatch ā€œ2ā€, even with so many issues and far from the better days of Overwatch 1, which is off-topic to discuss, keeps me engaged and entertained long enough in a reasonable time to complete the BattlePass. Diablo IV, even with such a lackluster endgame, has a BattlePass long enough to be completed with a casual rate of gameplay.
Of course, there is that nasty insidious ā€œtime saverā€ all these games have, including Diablo Immortal, that you can pay with real money to skip Battle Pass levels/tiers… that’s their endgame: ā€œYou tired of grinding? Pay up or give upā€. I definitely do not pay to skip levels or tiers.
I think 2 months is a fair enough deadline to complete the BattlePass for Diablo Immortal in its current model, even for the developers to slow down their rate of designing cosmetics too (so many hit-and-misses). Hopefully this happens by next year.

In addition to what has been said earlier, the recent patch made earning BP points a lot easier by making Abyssal Verge and Erebban directly grant some points. This has made the Verge one of the best ways to play. ~3 min per run, grants some 10 BP points (exact amount depends on the score) on top of everything else, which is loot, gems, monster essence, etc. That’s minimum of 15 runs per hour, easily granting at least one BP level.

And in my replies I showed that you could…

  • Obtain level 15 (for the cosmetics) in under 7 hours
  • Obtain level 40 (for full completion) in under 27 hours

As you can obtain the cosmetics with under 7 hours gameplay, that means in a 28 day season playing for an average of less than 15 minutes per day, i.e. 1 hour 45 minutes a week.

If a game can’t hold your attention for a couple of hours a week, perhaps you are better off playing something else you get more enjoyment out of, for sure.

I still have almost half of this week BP point cap unused. Pass is at level 75, with a couple of days left I think I can can reach a few more levels.

I still haven’t seen the OP provide a single valid reason why the Pass should last longer than a month. Even with very casual play, doing dailies and stuff for an hour or two a day, you can reach level 40 in two weeks.

If a month is not enough to reach level 40, you’re just lazy. I’m sorry if that’s offensive but there’s no other explanation.

Hey everybody,

Remember, this is an open forum where all players can come to share their experiences with the game, and share their thoughts on various aspects of Diablo Immortal.

Being an open forum, disagreements will arise. When those do, just try to remember to be respectful of each others opinions and needs. Everybody has different times they are able to play, and what is very achievable to some, might not be as achievable for others.

All that to say that we have no plans to extend the length of a Battlepass, but we have been looking at some improvements that might make achieving the Battlepass more accessible for players that have a more rigid schedule. Stay tuned, I hope to see those out soon!

I’d suggest adding more ways to earn BP points, maybe even having two daily activities having limited double points opportunity instead of having just one like we have now.

Adding earnable points to things like the Abyssal Verge was already a great addition. Keep adding more like these.

Earlier in the thread I showed how it could take…

  • 7 hours for level 15 (cosmetics)
  • 27 hours for level 40 (fully complete)

Does it really need to be made easier than taking an average of less than an hour a day?

Thanks for the feedback! More options for BP points are always welcome! Although an extent to the length of BP on mid term should happen eventually.

Cool stories, bro, but not everyone loves to or can grind as much as you.
