So, Every week I capped Battle pass point really fast. We already knew that each battle pass level up would yield a huge exp to our level, the problem is that I capped it 1 or 2 days after each reset.
Now, what can I do to gain exp efficiently?
Do I need to run around any zones like chicken without a head, mindlessly killing monsters for exp?
Or I play different game until new reset next week? LOL
or play casually and relax.
For me, I just spam BG if I have nothing to do once I capped Battle Pass.
I still have 125 points left this week. Once those are used up I’ll play just enough for the daily rewards.
Note that points from events and quests do not count towards the cap. You can still earn some points by completing their objectives.
Generally, once you’re BP capped, you’re left with a choice of dungeons or open-world farming. At server paragon level +13/+14, you’re only earning 10% XP. Once you get to +15/+16, you’re only earning 5% XP. Generally, once I’m at +13 I pretty much only do basic stuff, i.e. 3 dungeons, 2 sets of bounties, gather one set of monstrous essence (ready for hand-in the following day). If there are events that grant BP points do those (as they don’t count towards / can exceed the 2400 weekly cap).
At that point, it depends how masochistic you’re feeling because that’s where fishing comes in. At 100% XP rate, handing in a legendary fish is worth 150K XP and handing in a mythic fish is worth 500K XP. You can hold up to 20 fish in your Inventory. Thus, if you fish up 20 mythic fish, that’s essentially 10 million XP stored up.
Let’s assume you end the week at server level +13, which means you’re earning 10% XP. You fish for a bag full of fish. After the weekly reset, the server paragon level increases by 10, and your hero is now only server level +3, which means they’re earning 60% XP. So, if you hand in 20 mythic fish on Monday morning, that’s 60% of 10 million XP = 6 million XP. As each paragon level is 3.5 million XP, the fish you caught get you almost two paragon levels, much easier than you could have grinded from server +13 to server +15 in the previous reset.
It’s capped by design. They want you to cap it and then wait until next week’s reset to keep playing.
It’s actually a great design from a business perspective. It’s a mouse wheel with a huge sprinkle of sunk cost fallacy to keep em’ going!
That’s a reason I quit/stopped play these games very fast. I didn’t play DI last 3 days lol, instead I re-play some of my console games and D3 Souls Reaper. I’m not entirely F2P gamer, I spend only for cosmetics armor/weapon sets, but I will quit playing if a restriction to slow me down like in this game is battle points cap each week. I think I will stick with console game because nowadays all games out there got same cheap business static!
Edit:
Now, Battle Pass capped is already slow me down and with exp reduced to 60% its slowed me down further, it’s now a dragging process of a progression (at least for me) LOL. I’m done with DI and requested Blizzard delete this game account. This game was fun about 3 weeks until I hit the limit cap wall.
