Rifts.
Trash. You run from A to B, consuming everything on your way, final stop with boss, they don’t last much, the end. You know what, you could make it a straight line so player wouldn’t need to move left and right.
How about merging rifts (rewards) so you wouldn’t need to spend time on different activities doing exactly the same?
Oh, it’s expecially fun when at some point you start to be on the same team with high level players and you just follow them as a tail. So much fun. Challenging…
Dungeons.
Trash. You run from A to B, consuming everything on your way, final stop with boss, they don’t last much, the end. You know what, you could make it a straight line so player wouldn’t need to move left and right. I just copy-pasted just like devs did.
In the beginning it was great. When you had similar level players. It was challenging, you had cooperation, you helped each other. Bosses actually survived long enough to utilize all of their mechanics. But at some point it became dumb - you run as fast as possible, you meet the boss, you kill them, in some cases, in 7 seconds. Which is absurd, what kind of boss is that?
Have you heard about classes? Do you know dungeons can be fun and challenging even if you grind them day after day, even if you reached end game? Some games offer that. Seek for some inspiration.
Doing activities that have A to B run and all that matters is DPS… Repeating the same in different activities day after day… makes you a zombie… so dumb.
PvP BG/TW
Where to start… Trash!
Modes are great, good idea. But one the most absurd features is Ranked system.
When I reached top10 (being top1 doesn’t change a thing) in my class in TW, I thought “nice, that must be a new step, I’m gonna be matched with players that are dedicated to play and win”. Because, you know, since I got this placement, I will get similar rank players. There was a match when 3 of us got score points and ALL others had 0. Zero! They were fighting over our base tower (the last one) and dying. Obviously we lost, pretty fast. And I get -rank points. Is it fair? Adequate?
So Blizzard, since it’s your “thing” to create broken ranking system, maybe it’s finally time to change it? Is it hard to understand that I’m not responsible for all my teammates, my rank points shouldn’t be based on Win/Lose scenario? Some other pvp games have thought it through. If your team lost a match but your performance was good, you can be the ONLY one on your team who got +rank points and all others got -points. Is it fair? (rhetorical)
So you either go pve with mostly similar activities and becoming a zombie or you go pvp with broken rank system (not mentioning other complaints players talk about) and get angry. Or you just delete the game because you don’t want to become an angry zombie!
Oh, wait a minute! Is that an agenda? First stage - player becomes a dumb zombie through pve. Second stage - players gets angry through pvp. Third stage - since player already can’t think properly and he is angry, he wants to donate to dominate.
The CR requirement for the old Inferno 6 dungeons was 33700.
The CR requirement for the new Hell 3 dungeons is 22520.
This means that, for the vast majority of players that had been in INF6 for months, they are now doing dungeon content that they’re at least 10K CR over the requirements for. Not only does that mean they do way, way more damage to mobs / bosses, but Blizzard also halved the HP pool of all mobs / bosses. These changes completely trivialised dungeon content.
Unless the 2nd anniversary introduces Para 300 / Hell 4 content, with associated increases in difficulty, CR requirements and exclusive legendaries, there’s nothing left that players might even vaguely struggle to complete.
You think similarly as me.
PVE contents repeated every day are boring (the suggestion(9) I wrote in this board), and the pvp scoring system is not reasonable (the suggestion(3) I wrote).
In the case of dungeons, I think a “squeeze(?)” method of increasing difficulty, reducing grind time, and increasing rewards, like Hellslayer Bounty, would be also good.
Yes, I agree. I was top of I5, bottom of I6 which made for some element of challenge, but now it’s just a straight run through. We need Hell4 for sure.
But that’s exactly the point of it. Consider it to be the work you have to do for your weekly one purple crest. 35 rifts with loading time takes about ~1 hour. On the other hand if you spend and run 10 leg crest rifts than the excitment comes from opening the chests so it shouldn’t be too long and challenging.
Now this one is a huge misunderstanding. There are no mmr in this game, the ranking system is absolutely artificial and your performance is not considered in any way/shape/form in it. It’s designed so you can reach legend rank even with 47% win percentage and you won’t get matched with similar ranked players because it only looks for stats. If you want fair and competitive pvp go play dota or something else. Complaining about this in a p2w game is like water off a duck’s back.
I am happy to be wrong, but I’m confident the dev’s have been listening for the last week here, Reddit and on their partner streamers sites about fixing the HP in dungeons. So I think we may see a change (and several others) in the next battle pass patch (YES agreed to HELL IV or whatever they’ll call it)
And to the OP - @ xABATHURxTrash as a word is inapplicable to something that only requires adjustments. It’s a new patch with a lot of changes. There isn’t a game made with a massive patch that got it right without adjustments… sheesh…
Only thing keeping this game alive is the players love for a mobile Diablo MMO game, the devs and their recent ideas or lack thereof have been doing everything to ruin the game.
Whoever is in charge of ideas right now should be fire and create a better team more in touch with their players.
