So I have soloed the next capstone and made it to WT4. It looks just like entering WT3…a big jump in mob difficulty until you have a few pieces of the next tier gear then it becomes more of the same. I am still waiting for that spot where everything changes and sorcs can’t function people are talking about. I can say for sure nightmare 25 and Tree points and trash mobs in WT4 are not a major issue. Will report back after getting to NM 50 dugeons. FYI Fire build supposedly the weakest of the 3 elements
That’s an awesome accomplishment, to already be level 70 and playing at the hardest level. If you have the time, I would very much appreciate your sharing your build as I am struggling at the moment.
I have tried the Andariel fight several times and just keep getting wiped. I have tried to do Strongholds and get wiped at most of them as well. I am currently lvl 48 and my primary skills are fire bolt, and the other fire spell (can’t remember the name but it is right next to fire bolt in the skill tree. And I also have Blizzard maxxed. All the rest of my skill points are in defensive skills.
At present I am just grinding away trying to improve my gear and it is a very slow process. I haven’t managed to loot a legendary I can use for around 40 hours of play now.
If you do have the time and inclination to share your build, can you also say roughly in what order you chose your skills.
Thank you very much!
your information is wrong. Kripp is fire and was doing tier 55 fairly decent. But once he got to tier 60ish he would just randomly get one shot by white mobs. His build is super tanky , he’s taken all of the defensive stuff he can get , he has 16k health. Bosses are a joke and dont do anything but a white mob will insta one hit, as well as the corpse bows.
Armor is everything apparently in d4. So get as much as you can if you plan on getting to higher tiers. It’s actually insane how much better armor is than anything else in the game.
The only class in the game who can really push tiers is barbarian because they get the most armor. Not even druid can compete.
it’s probably not your gear but your build. Not sure why you’re maxing blizzard as it’s a terrible skill , also not sure why you’re mixing different elements. Keep one element of damage until you can start synergizing the EFFECTS of a skill, not the damage of the ability.
I’d recommend going firewall with inferno, you can find all of the decent builds here :
app. mobalytics.gg/diablo-4/builds/sorcerer/kripp-s-ultimate-fire-sorc
Do you mean just keep only one offensive skill? And then put all the rest in defense?
Perhaps I should start over with a Barbarian if you think I might have better success with that. There is so much I like about this game. But I have trouble with bosses a lot of the time.
the biggest thing with bosses is getting their stagger bar full as fast as possible then their damage taken is increased. Stuff that staggers include Slow, Immobilize, Stun, Knockback, Knockdown, Taunt, Fear, Tether, Daze, Chill, and Freeze**. Try to find items that reduce the cooldown of abilities. Stuff that has this usually are helmets, offhand weapon and amulet. Try to find boots that have frost nova and teleport. More points in these reduce the cooldown
psssst , you can call your horse into this fight. He is like that bodyguard you never had in high school. I honestly don’t know if this was intended.
Maru, I have the impression that you are a pretty savvy player and I appreciate your input.
Again I will ask, do you think the Barbarian would be an easier class to play? I really would like to complete the Andariel fight. I don’t mind dying. I did manage to complete all the other boss fights until I attempted Andariel. And I don’t mind starting out again as a Barbarian.
Thank you for that tip! I will try it.
If you need a build, this is probably the most broken one.
I have posted my Song of Ice and Fire build on here before, which is what I used for that fight. It was pretty easy, when I accidentally hit the mount button
Also make sure you have points in Willpower and Intelligence via gear, and that the gear is upgraded if possible to +10-15 item levels. (2 or 3 upgrades)
Single target damage is a bit lower for sorc but that first link is ridiculous. Use it.
It’s not AS fun to play, but it is effective. My build is very capable for that fight in WT2 solo but it requires positioning and mechanics not one button Arclash spam.
It might be higher NM dungeons but the issue with higher NM dungeons is when people try to kill lvl 80-90 enemies at lvl 70. Some classes do that better than others.
Just do it… try it yourself. Make a tier 90 NM dungeon sigil and see how it goes. Or is it tier 60? Something like that. You can make any sigil you want.
Sorcerer is unfortunately busted right now. I’m currently level 64 and I can comfortably do sigils wt4 27-30(depending on the affixes on the last one) because of how tanky and bursty ice shards is. I fully expect a nerf that is going to make us miserable sooner rather than later
I’m a Fire Sorc as well and did the level 70 capstone at level 66. And I use Fireball rather than Firewall because I like blowing stuff up more than watching it burn slowly.
It was initially very hard fighting level 73 mobs as level 66 but once I got a few good ancestrals and got my HP up to 5k I can clear nicely, now. If I can get a well-rolled ancestral Staff of Endless Rage to replace my sacred one, I’ll be in a good spot. I know it won’t scale up as high as the best builds but it’s fun to play. Setting off massive Fireball chain-reactions is very fun.
that’s not broken. Those are still low tiers. try tier 60 +
The only class that can push tier 80 is barbarian
Thank you SO much Irres. It took me an hour or more but I found a complete list of skill points in order of when to choose them on the website at the top of your post. After finally setting it all up, it totally ROCKS! I haven’t tried anything difficult yet, but completing an Altar of Lilith I was able to quickly and easily defeat all the mobs I encountered with little damage at all. I have my skills set up so that Ice Shards is my left mouse button, Frost Nova is my Right mouse button and Ice Armor is my “1” key. So far just using these three keys was all I had to do to wipe the mobs I encountered. Next I will try a Stronghold and see how difficult that is but this build is much better and easier to play than the one I had as a Fire Sorcerer.
I prefer firewall. I can even tank the butcher with ease. To clear dungeons, I pretty much just lay out a firewall and move to the next group. Very fast. Helps to pick the right dungeons for that tho.
I didn’t read all the responses above, so if someone mentions this… i apologize.
If you just got into TW4 and find the gear from TW3 just isnt cutting it… I was back hunting wolves in starting areas myself… lol… But I tried something and it worked… Do a WT3 Helltide, save your cinders… then go over to WT4 and collect the chests there… Get the Mystery Chests… legendary gear each time from what I can tell… between 1 and 5 sometimes…
Yeah that build (Arc Lash) is very clever, no denying that. It removes the need to be dependent on mana. And I played it for one boss, it is ridiculously OP, imo.
So I went back to mine. I have been leveling some other classes, but when I go back to Sorc, I will go back to my build and tweak as I go, like I have been doing.
For Strongholds, I believe they are 3 lvls above you, make sure you remember Elixirs. Don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t say more.
Oh just a note if you are using my Frost build. Don’t remove Frost Bolt, you need it to generate mana in a pinch.
As it stands I think my mana regens from 0-full in less than 2.2 seconds…that’s me emptying it with ice shards and then counting how long idle regen is.
Ice Shards is a good for single target damage, but it is mana hungry. I think I have frost bolt on LMB and Ice Shards on RMB. Flame Shield is Q, Ice Armor is W, Bliz is E and DF is R (I remapped my keys one level down it is easier for me to hit heal by moving up) If I swap in Frost Nova it is usually for Flame Shield…but honestly in boss fights I think FS is better .
My best recommendation is to do legion events. You just get carried and get good gear at the end. Twice an hour. Easy peasy. After a couple, you’ll be geared enough to head out to helltide, most likely.
Thanks again Irres. I wasn’t using frost bolt at all and was running out of mana too quickly. What does “DF” stand for? I understand all the others. I had a bunch of points in Frost Nova and removed them and put them in Blizzard instead. I don’t think you had Blizzard in the build you gave the website address of.
