Wow, cant believe im having unconditional fun in d4

I think it might have happened just once in the first launch patches. But since blizzard still designs the game for blasters there’s always been something crap about just playing the game.

Whatever circumstance i’ve returned to im shocked im enjoying this game so much without reservation. With the fact i’m playing in eternal:

  • The current balance of a named mob + high health mobs every few pulls is SO good. Its perfect. This is how you feel powerful. Blizzard like disney forgot that if the bad guy is weak you don’t feel powerful when you beat it. Its compounded perfection that i actually feel like ultimate abilities have a purpose and i feel good about choosing one. Shrines also are looked forward, instead of just the fear conditioning about the horde trigger if you’re unlucky enough. Guess what, GEAR out of all things i look forward to because… yeah the difficulty balance of hard on eternal is great. Or maybe i’m just going through a bubble at level 34.
  • Feels so good to be unlocking the battle pass doing what i want. The blizzard pressure checklist for them to farm engagement metrics isn’t there. I log in, do whatever i want, and the battle pass cosmetics unlock. Finally at a comparable rate. So good. The season specific cosmetics are so bad this time around im glad to not even have the possibility of unlocking that on my account. Go blizzard art team.

So could it be that the full game is balanced to include seasonal powers, so if they aren’t there it just so happens that eternal is a bit harder? Yeah keep doing this blizzard.

And make the cosmetics back to the bounty of history not d3. But yeah just keep the gameplay the same i’ll be fine not having to buy any more cosmetics. I can live with that.

im not on the “perfect” course just yet, but i feel s8 was a pretty solid step in a good direction for now.

Yeah its curious how they miss the mark somehow. Its probably the forced constant change due to their seasonal design pillar that never leaves anything good for long.

If they were targeting stability every patch would fix the next item to the stable goal and it would be a superb game by now.

But their goal is in fact to change something and imbalance something different every patch. For every class. While also introducing a different new power gimmick.

i mean i personally dont believe in “balance” or “stability” in a big fashion when it comes to arpgs anyway. But we got them saying that they want to do balance patches early in the season now, so im curious to see where this will go.

Some people will of course scream angrily for the live of it, and while i agree that for example immunity phases arent necessarily the best option for boss fights, i for sure think they are a good solution for now.

people keep forgetting that its a live service game. stuff will always change, and hopefully only as heavily as in s4/5 when new expansions hit (i do feel for the eternals there indeed)

Meh, i guess i just hope they stick to a lane now. D4 got a little rougher, yea, but its nowhere close to be a poe2 as some people try to suggest sometimes. Its as you said:

and i agree with that. Exponential health scaling does become an issue at some point of course, but i dont think thats something that needs current attention.

whats the max pit clear currently? 121? (nevermind, just checked, 123 it is) i think thats fine.
Heck, for the sake of it to comfort the casuals id even say lower the requirements to level glyphs lol.

Oh are the blasters mad at the occasional more than one button kill?

Ha ha. Look what they do in the seasonal realm, or the endgame casino doesn’t really bother me.

I just hope they can keep alive this underpowered eternal experience, if thats what it is in fact. Maybe they can look at monster scaling and the gear cap (if its still there) before the campaign ending so it doesn’t mysteriously die from that later.

Is the seasonal realm also higher time to kill as well?

Poe 2 looks amazing, just it seems like a really high life investment and knowing its going to be free next year…

oh the certainly are

im playing it right now between seasons. My heart belongs to d4 currently, but i like poe2 a lot as well. You wont get a “dont purchase it yet” from me ^^

Also, lets see when its f2p for real… that being said… the grass isnt always greener on the other side :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yeah well if it hasn’t been said before, why not make eternal the good game, and the season realm the one button game? Everyone wins!

meeeeeh id lose there my guy :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

but yea, i certainly dont mind more love for the eternal players. I dont play it myself, but i can see why they can be annoyed :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ahh my mistake, sorry

Well, i fully admit blizzard has been tunnel versioned on blasters since launch day. The brief weeks from launch to the first season were not bad at all.

Im just greatful theres also a spot for me as not blasting to have fun, expecting blizzard to deblaster their entire design philosophy would be an unreasonable ask.

I could do this forever. The only constructive feedback is maybe they want to speed up the tokens in eternal because say it is balanced for 100% dungeon play if i don’t get the tokens in eternal i just wont unlock the urn. At one point blizzard should just take the money rather than needing grind metrics and season engagement because from me they’ll never get it anyway.

Just like blasters will never like a more than one button game.

Anyway, its the constant problem for this game, so might as well just focus on the fun. More simple players, blasters, and even blizzard seem to have completely different and non overlapping needs from the game lol. I think its a miracle what im playing now is even working out. I bet it tanks at 50+still campaigning  See what happens.

Hello Friend!

The fact that you are enjoying Diablo 4 and having a fun challenge is a good thing, and that is all that matters during game play with any game. However, as much as I like Diablo 4, there are many unresolved issues and problems that need to be fixed and improved and I hope Blizzard steps up to the plate soon and finally fixes and improves Diablo 4 as we all originally expected and paid for over 2 years ago. Although improvements and some fixes have been made to D4 in the past 2 years, much more is needed to get the game out of Beta.

Unfortunetly, Blizzard made many broken promises to all players for the past 2 years, and perhaps Blizzard is slow in getting the core fixes and improvements done, but it is long overdue, and it needs to get done sooner than later.

As for me, despite some frustrations and disappointments with the game, I also enjoyed Season 8 game play and appreciate a good, fun challenge as I would think most players do. I like playing in the Eternal Realm as well. I got my Paragon level to 242 and this season thanks to my girl’s OP Sorcerer we reached Paragon level 247 in Season 8, which is nice but D4 is too repetitive and grindy overall, but to each their own. No one expects perfection, and I agree we should have a challenging game experience, but it should also be fun, rewarding and entertaining. The original epic campaign and stroyline for Diablo IV - was and still is my favorite campaign for D4, and I don’t mind doing it over from time to time either, but after the campaign is over it gets too repetitive and I hope Blizzard livens things up, fixes and improves D4 soon. I also think Blizzard should bring all past Seasonal Powers to the Eternal Realm where players can pick one Power at a time from each season and select it like when we switch Torment levels. This would be very fun to use and it would definitely enhance our game play and experience with D4.

I also believe D4 season game play should be at least 4 months with more in-game fun and rewarding events in season and Eternal realms, so we can actually explore and enjoy the game more and not be rushed to finish each season. D4 can be a much better game!

As for Season 9, I played the PTR 2.3.0 and it was rather lame and not as good as I hoped. The Horadric spells are simply lame and not so good either. D4 Season 8 is much better. I was disappointed to say the least, so I’m just going to take a break from playing Diablo 4 until I see some real fixes, improvements and quality of life features the game sorely needs, because after 2 years it is way overdue.

I hope Diablo 4 gets the love and attention it deserves from Blizzard and eventually gets fixed and improved as Blizzard promised players for the past 2 years soon. I would love to see D4 become an awesome, fun, epic, rewarding and thrilling game to play and experience every season and that means giving some much needed love to the Eternal Realm and Hardcore mode in the game. .

With all that said, keep enjoying and happy gaming, friend. - JJ -

You saying this doesnt make it true. The game has been released for 2 years and with 8 seasons of new content. Nothing beta about that.

Whatever you say, Troll. Lol.

Everything that is wrong with D4 since launch over 2 years ago keeps the game in Beta and more needs to be done to fix and improve the game, and it is damn true. I stand by everything I wrote and I am not the only one saying it. If you don’t like the facts, simply ignore and move on.

It’s unreal how some people want to justify the ongoing problems and issues with Diablo 4 and just twist things for whatever reasons. It makes no sense being in constant denial of the facts. It must be tough to live like that… lol.

Its sad when all you can do is resort to childish attempts at insults. Sure, there could be improvements but the fact is the game is not in beta. Again, you saying something doesnt make it true. Try to be a little more mature next time.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Well i was excited at launch as an old diablo and blizzard player, but within a few weeks was told and saw that blizzard were making this game entirely for blasters, which wasn’t for me.

I mean blizzard was bowing and kneeling to people who told others to quit the game because they couldn’t be bothered walking around the town and blizzard suddenly changed all towns so you teleport into a middle surrounded by vendors. They couldn’t deal with multiple herb types so blizzard dumbed it down to one or two. Really its a pretty unique niche.

So from buying the game i tried to find a place for myself, and eventually left after 5 or 6 seasons when the cosmetics changed to d3xwow, which also isn’t me.

Im just back trying to salvage really, and quite happy to find that the game on eternal hard difficulty with yellow gear at level 30 is more than one button to play, and i can unlock the battle pass in eternal too. And i watched the expansion campaign on youtube and didn’t mind it, but i can’t buy it because my first pc copy was on steam, and blizzard pretty much worked out the fair price and x2 at launch so.

Yeah im very happy to find salvage. Until blizzard themselves want the same thing as players out of the game, wether it be blasters or d2 vets, nothing can change. Blizzard wanted and still want monetary seasons above all else, and that’s the only thing they’ve seemed to manage if you think about it.

But look stepping back and coming back just for fun is the better approach. Stuff like the above is what happens if you play the game too much?

I am always mature until trolls try to twist the facts and harass my post or comments as you do often, and I am not the only one you do it to either. You must have a lot of free time on your hands to constantly whitewash the facts about the problems and issues the game (D4) has, which Blizzard has failed to resolve since D4 launched over 2 years ago. Fact.

  • Twisting the truth is not going to make the facts untrue, no matter what you say. As I said many times before, we all have different opinions and I understand that, but twisting the truth is another matter altogether and that’s not right. Again, you twisting the facts and truth about Diablo 4’s problems and issues that remain unresolved since the game came out over 2 years ago does NOT make it untrue. Not to mention, everyone is well aware of Diablo 4’s many issues and problems since the game launched to this present day. That is nothing new. Lol.

Everyone knows the state the game is in, and D4 still remains in Beta since it launched, and like I said many times before I hope Blizzard gives Diablo 4 the love and attention it deserves soon, and finally gets around to fixing and improving the game, because after 2 years of broken promises by Blizzard to all D4 players who paid and support this game, it is long overdue, and that’s a fact. Have yourself a good day. - JJ -

I’m sorry, why are you replying to Subdriver? Are you a masochist? Or do you just have far more time to waste than is reasonable for anyone?

I think the leveling pace from 1–60, and even up through Paragon 150, feels just about right. The 150–250 range is a bit of a grind, but it’s one I don’t really mind. Now if they could just speed up that 250–300 stretch a little, it’d feel a lot smoother overall.

Thank you as well, friend. I appreciate and understand where you’re coming from. Cheers! - JJ - :+1:

Just because someone disagrees with you does not make them a troll. Also, just because a game could use improvements does not mean its in Beta. The fact is the game released 2 years ago and has had 8 seasons of new content. That is objectively not in Beta. Words have meaning, you should learn them.

By this stance every game that has support and not in maintenance mode is in Beta.

Perhaps you should play D3 since its now out of beta and in maintenance mode. Come back to D4 when D5 is released and D4 no longer gets support. I also wouldnt recommend buying any new game if it has updates to it. Just wait a decade and play it at that point since you dont seem to know the difference between beta and a supported game that will evolve over time.

Beforw you start yammering about bugs they have always been around every single game. I still remeber keith curage in the alpha zone for the turbo graphics 16 where you could LOS the end boss so they didnt move or attack. Lets not foget all the bugs in mario kart or super mario 64 that still exist today.
