Ever wonder why the KFC D4 promotion failed? Here’s a few reasons why:
-
The cosmetics sucked. Why in the world they wouldn’t capitalize on this weird pairing with a KFC bucket helmet and a skin for a weapon that looked like a fried chicken leg is beyond me. Big Rooster mount?
-
The whole online order only thing was weird and inconvenient for walk in customers.

KFC is absolutely terrible food. Even by fried chicken standards. Hell, even by fast food standards.
The idea overall was great. The implementation of it was absolutely terrible and not done well.

i wanted to stress the enemies part which you didnt mention.
Lol I mean yeah. It’s that bad for sure.
Couple skins were okay. I liked the rogue’s backpack. Tossed the “food”. Avoid all fast food.

Could they get much lower? They are closing a lot over the years.

Well its not just KFC closing locations over the years. I mean lets face it… Last time I stepped into a KFC was because it was a hybrid Taco Bell / KFC mix and an 8 piece bucket of chicken was over 25 dollars. But If you use the app it was 8 dollars…
The Price is just absurd now at all fast food places.

It failed because D4 was not as evil as KFC.

It failed? Do we have a source on that? Not that I doubt it failed but would like a source.
Didnt fail for me. Got all 5 items. Finger lickin good. Btw i live i canada. Used vpn. Got 5 codes online. I got a new diablo 4 cosmetics channel. Search Shaolin D4 on youtube.
It definitely failed your health if you ate that.

Gaming x fried chicken is weird to me because fried chicken is almost the perfect anti-gaming food.
You need your hands and it’s greasy as hell so it would slime up your keyboard or controller unless you thoroughly wash up. It’s gotta be the only food worse than pizza.
They should have done sliders or other “easy to eat while playing” crossover.

Worked for me. I got all the cosmetics. <3
#1 is the only reason. If the cosmetics were awesome people would have figured out the online / app order system without issue. The cosmetics were just plain horrible.
If you want people to spend real life money on something, you have to make it desirable. Hell, I would have bought the food and given it to a homeless person if the cosmetics were cool.

Same although we got pretty picky homeless people around here lol.

I remember a time, many moons ago, when Kentucky Fried Chicken was good. KFC, otoh, absolutely sux!
Do you have proof that the KFC D4 promotion failed? What metrics are you using to determine ‘failure’?
Blizzard more than likely came out positive on money. Just because a majority of the community didn’t participate or didn’t like it doesn’t mean it failed.
And I know, blah, blah, blah… greedy corporation. Keep in mind the majority of people that hate D4 are those that spent $70-$100 on it. The players are just as greedy, they’re just losing the greed war.
