All that boss farming for the other two bosses gives you the same chances at mythics as well. All bosses have the same drop chance. The best bosses to farm are now the ones that give you regular uniques that you might need.
I like the direction, but the title should read “Who has time for this and why would I care?” The seasons are short, the character is recycled and the loot is pointless; collecting dust in the character menu. I stopped caring about builds, loot, or anything in the game really because after the expansion, what you’re playing now is just right back to the trash can.
Now imagine the grind as a solo player. Typically the only mythics I get is from leveling enough characters to buy one. Although this season I got lucky and got a shako trying to get an unique off of regular Duriel.
Its a liesure activity. If you are doing it all it means you have time to burn and are just looking for something to do for a distraction from real concerns or you simply have no concerns.
Most likley you DO NOT have time for this and have real problems to solve that you aren’t doing.
There is nothing to gain here other than an effective way to waste of time.
Barb literally does not function without at least 3 mythics, fyi
Yea no more tempering for me. I uninstalled bc tempering
Thats the conclusion im coming to about this game. I just dont have the time neither do i want to create the time to give this game my best effort in just one season. Diablo 3 was fun because of paragon. It would carry over and youd get a huge boost for your new character to help with the farming process. It wasnt about instant gratification, it was about replayability. I could keep playing and grinding and be rewarded with something.
Diablo 4 is just so bland. I keep asking myself “why am i doing this?” “Im never going to realize the full extent of my build in one season, why bother?” “The stakes are too high.” “Even if i was to realize my true build, there wouldnt be enough time left in the season to actually play it.”
Here we are almost a month into the season and i am just hitting level 100 playing solo like 12 hrs a week. I get that efficiency is key, but sometimes efficiency IS NOT FUN (especially in a video game).
When vanilla classic came out, my friend wanted to power level in WoW and try to be one of the first people to max level. I decided id try to do it with him “just for fun.” It was not fun. We hated eachother. He was always pissed off because i wasnt killing things fast enough and i wasnt doing things in the order he wanted and i wanted to take breaks and was constantly telling him to calm tf down i eventually just threw my hands up and said ef it i quit…smoked some green watching tv while i watched him go insane staying up all night blaming me for not getting to max level fast enough.
Eventually i did get to max level and it made no difference…the goal of being max level for the first raid was eventually just water under the bridge. All that crazy “being efficient” crap almost ruined our friendship. I decided that day that there are two very different gamers out there. Those that are hardcore like my friend who just want to blaze through content at high speed and those that simply want to take their time.
My biggest issue is just that farming boss mats is extremely unfun. I’m fine to fight the boss over and over again. I’m not fine to 5 whisper caches or watch the blood maiden die 27 times in a row to have the chance to fight the boss.
Agreeing with the OP, it’s rather simple to forecast your chances of finding what you’re looking for, successfully tempering it and then enjoying the rest of the season with your BiS gear. And to the OP’s point, before you know it, the seasons over.
This is why I’m not a fan of seasons, let alone a season every 3 months. This game has the potential to be the best in it’s genre, but for the life of me, I have no idea why they went with the formula they chose, alienating a very large base of life long Diablo / ARPG fans.
But at the end of the day, I’ll play the game and grow quickly tired of it…only to pick it up a season later…because I still see potential in it’s future.
You just hit level 100 and still have an entire month left - what’s the problem?
casual dad being casual dad
The problem is that i want to have time to tweak my build and be able to climb the leaderboard and replace items with others as i see fit. Im not rolling a “maxroll” build. I am rolling a pretty legit homegrown build…which is more to the point of this game. “Play your way” right?
Again i am just hitting level 100, no part of my item build is even pre-bis.
I gotcha - that definitely takes some more R & D time.
i have gotten 5 chars the gear for endgame already. im sorry you are struggling doing it for 1
Are they all homegrown builds?
mostly. i look at some of the sites but they always mess up paragon boards with inefficiencies
Nice. What kind of strategy do you use for paragon boards?
Aim for 7 boards. Its a bit tight but you can make it happen. I needed a ton of stuff in my 2nd board so I used that to go all 4 directions and then used those extra directions to end on boards that had long paths to exit out of so saved tons of points. Dont be afraid to invest heavily in one board if you can use that board to go all directions. It really helps to be able to not string every board together.
depends on what im building. on my boss killer builds its pure dps. all dmg multipliers. on my hordes builds i mix in dr and survivability
The reading strategy.
No, really. Read the abilities that are meaningful for your build. Go for as many Glyph slots as you can. Most Legendary slots are worthless, and take a lot of Paragon to get both Glyph and Legendary.
Maximize your Glyph bonuses.
