What's the point of T1-T3?

The redesign is for players who want to step away from copying streamers and crafting their own unique builds, instead of just relying on meta builds. It’s about giving those who enjoy the journey the opportunity to create something off-meta and watch it grow into its own viable playstyle over time. Some players don’t want to be carried by the latest meta builds—they prefer the challenge of making something unique work. It seems like this comment might come from someone who’s always been content with just jumping to the finish line, relying on the latest meta without appreciating the effort it takes to make a non-meta build into a meta-build.

As many have said and I will say as well. Gotta remember that most people don’t play Meta-Builds. We just play what we want to and have fun with it.

As many have said, some people actually play the game. Have fun looking up meta builds then complaining about being bored in 2 weeks.

I didn’t spend a lot of time on T1 or T2, but I spent quite a while on T3 before I could make the transition to T4. The Tiers are necessary stepping stones for most builds.

I’ve beeen spending a lot of time in T2 as my resistance and armor aren’t ready for 3 or 4 yet and because getting the pieces for the build aren’t exactly dropping very often and when they do they are typically 750 :cry:

I still had 3 or 4 items at 750 when I went to T4 but resistances and armor is definitely a requirement for T3 and T4. I used tempers to help build up rest and armor till I found better.

As many people said, not everyone plays meta. I’m not exactly fond of the D3-based difficulty settings, but it is what we have now.

Still, someone not playing meta can transition relatively easily from T1 to T2, and will probably stay in T3 for a while. This is okay. This is probably what was intended, even if meta builds completely invalidate T3 and T4 as soon as they hit 60 and find their build defining uniques.

use tempering to compensate is definitely the way until you get the items you need

I don’t recall ever seeing a thread like this from any of the people who came up with the meta builds. I’m pretty sure they fought their way through the lower tiers like everyone else, and used their experience to gain an understanding of all the synergies and so forth needed to reach and thrive in T4. And that is the experience of anyone who doesn’t follow a guide.

Funny I dont know anyone personally who plays arpgs solo. Sure there will be times when friends might not be online and your forced to play solo.

99.999% of statistics cited on gaming forums are imaginary.

I don’t personally know anyone who plays ARPGs period. OTOH, nobody cares who you or I know or don’t know, because it’s meaningless & says nothing at all of the wider world.

my sorc had to farm lower tiers + get mythics to be able to do t4 vs my necro who was doing the same 1 day into the season with leveling junk. it would be nice if for just ONE season there wasn’t any super OP builds that are able to skip entire parts of progression completely. hah, i know, it’s to much to ask i guess.

And how does one get the correct aspect and uniques? :joy:

How does one get carried if they only play solo?
How does one get carried (even if they want to) at the very start of the season?

Some people would rather play solo.
Someone people would rather actually play than just leech.

Being in the same zone as who? When you play HC, the entire world is empty.

Because it servers as both a natural progression ramp, for those willing/able to go all the way to T4, or a comfortable place to play that suits their character power and preferences.

But of course, you know all this.

This covers it well.

As I read OP what came to mind to me was t1-3 is just a gear shift in progression method … to get … the gear…. and the game is essentially about progression.

OP essentially saying what if you get the gear as a hand out. Essentially you’ve skipped the progression is all.
