its a combo of both lego aspects and uniques all synergizing with the talents and paragon points that give power.
i would imagine after looking at the paragon boards that quite a good bit of it is coming from there directly,

while i think barb is strong. it has also flaws.
barb only has access to 3 different cc types: Stun, Knockback and Knockdown.
They way staggering bosses work is different from what many people expect. And you can build something that staggers bosses relatively constant and fast. If you hit it with different ccs of different kind. Since all have an internal cd when they will stagger increase the boss again.
Most classes have access to 4 ccs . But sorc is probably the easiest class to chain all 4 together, followed by rogue. And both classes are capable of maybe the most insane burst in the game.
The goal here is to stagger bosses relatively fast. and absolutely decimate foes in that short stagger window.
These builds are much more demanding of playerskills and planning around, then normal builds, but can be incredible rewarding if you pull it off.
So for me if i want some constant good dmg and easy to play build i would probably say druid and barb shines the most, they are for me the most straight forward classes, followed by necro.
But if you want something unique, i would say go rogue/sorc. ofcourse these have some tame and normal builds aswell, but as many stated already are a lot more squishy at endgame, especially the rogue.
I see.
We’ll just have to give it time.
However, I don’t play to have the best of the best characters, just one which is fun and since I play with a smaller group of friends or solo, I won’t ever have the need to compare where I stand to other players.
As long as I feel that I progress through the campaign and eventually world tiers, I’m satisfied even if I happen to pick the character the community deems to be the weakest. Actually, if I beat the game with the weakest character and then in addition to that traverse the world tiers, that’s an accomplishment in itself.
But that is how it should be. The opposite end of the spectrum is D2 where you can clear the game naked with some classes and the game is just way too easy.
Same here at this point in my life. I’m a Data Scientist at trade. I do enough thinking in my daily life to satisfy that urge. I play games purely for fun not to think hard or anything else. All I care about is that the game is challenging enough to maintain interest while having a decent story.
You can get at least 1 other form or CC through Gear and Aspects.
i am aware, but not everyone can incorporate that easiliy. But for reference can you give me some examples? maybe i missed something in my planning.
Sorc has this slow after immobilize thats not a chill slow i think.
Strongest class is the multi-box users will take over everything period if blizzard allows automation. We’ll see how it goes. Thats why blizzard will add the leaderboard in 7 months or so. Multi-box users wont last longer anymore after 7 months or they will get banned when show in leader boards. In black desert online there were leader board at the release, many players got banned because of using hacks and stuff. So this means when blizzard release the leaderboard, many of players will be banned
I’ll be honest everyone will give you a different opinion. All classes are viable so play your favourite and you’ll have a blast.
PvP is going to be unbalanced anyway blizzard have said as much - it isn’t a PvP focused game and the fields of hatred are not about fair PvP battles but trying to secure your loot. So don’t expect balanced PvP and anyone who complains about this clearly isn’t aware of this fact.
As for PvE all classes feel fine in PvE… and if they don’t blizzard have shown they are good at listening to feedback. Some say druid is weakest but I saw someone on this thread recommend druid and I have had a great time on druid and felt strong.
Rogue is supposedly the ‘strongest’ but when I played melee rogue I struggled in the beta against one of the bosses who has now been patched to give melee characters an easier time.
Don’t overthink it - pick your favourite!
Plus no one can know which the best class will be as there are literally 75 levels we haven’t seen yet, a couple of class boosting quests, paragon board, and 75 levels-worth of legendary items. Not to mention higher difficulties. So no one can give you the answer to that xD
This is what a lot of people on this forum do not get.
I feel like some do and are brigading the posts to sway the devs actions. (or there are just way more derps then I think that are being sheep)
The devs “listening to the players” aka streamers and highly brigaded posts only and making sweeping balance changes based on this and completely destroying builds in the process is my main concern with the game.
We will see. They will need to be making constant changes end game… but again if they are mostly just listen for the squeeky forum wheels… it will be a horribly unfun game.
Barbarian
Pro
Permanent Berserk. Ton of CC. Constant Barrier. High Fortify. High AoE and Single Target Damage. High Resource Generation. Massive Burst/Nuke. Heals Chip Damage. High Stagger. High Survivability. Flexibility in Aspects. Highly active playstyle and skill availability and build toward Full Fury HotA nukes. Synergizes exceptionally well with other builds that gain damage to CC enemies.
Cons
Survivability scaling in Paragon. Slow Attack speed. High Burst Damage makes damage less consitent than some other builds. No Shouts is a little less group utility. CC sucks for any Thorns build. Less flat DR than most other builds. Feast or Famine gameplay against bosses due to Unstoppable enemies. There is always going to be skills and Aspects you want but cannot afford. Relies heavily on 2H Blunt weapon only.
Barb, they can wear the most legendaries and uniques.
There is only one thing every single season has in common: “Looking for zBarb for speed farm”, the full of muscle, intended to be ballance between dps and tank for melee takes the support hole xD
I expect barb to likely be the strongest with the most aspects and being able to double two of them.
I honestly do not care. Rogue and Necro are my classes.
can you showcasing which interaction is your massive burst? it doesnt show in your text, im planning barb later, and im a sucker for bursty mechanics and cc/combo heavy builds. i mean besides hotas passive. where are the key components that make it a massive burst, besides the obvious ones in the key passive with 130% more dmg while all cost 100% more fury. Which is probably the strongest key passive in the game, but that works for everything not only burst.
you mean that “same game studio”… where the director and the lead designer were fired ages ago? (yes they had experience w d 3, true - maybe telling about why d3 ended like it did, lol, considering they were… fired).
or you speak about that “same game studio” were “team has been losing talent for over a year, as employees look for more competitive wages and better work conditions elsewhere, according to employees. One group of about 20 developers working on one portion of the game saw about half of its members leave within a year”? (source blizzard employees speaking to the washington post)
perhaps you mean “that same game studio” were “Many with institutional knowledge and decades of experience exited, leaving new employees and developers brought in from elsewhere at the company to fill in”? (same source)
oh, wait: that “same game studio”, where the creative director got in from the witcher 3, but his entire script had to be overhauled because content was disturbing to employees?
or that “same game studio” where “a former longtime Blizzard employee, (…) added that the Diablo team’s desire to break free from “Diablo III” meant finding new solutions to systems that the previous installment had already established”? (still same article)
ah, wait, i get it: must be that “same game studio” where “To help get “Diablo IV” over the finish line, Activision Blizzard enlisted industry veterans known for shipping games on time: video game industry veteran Rod Fergusson and Vicarious Visions, now known as Blizzard Albany” (certainly hiring external studios pros to take the lead, is proof it’s the “same game studio”?)
or maybe that “same game studio” where "Bringing on Vicarious helped with production, though the process to merge the teams was bumpy. Adding a new team that had less experience on the Diablo series with few plans for managing the integration led to difficulties around duplicate work (…) “At a certain point, throwing bodies at the problem does not solve the problem,” said a current Blizzard Albany employee, about Blizzard’s strategy of buying more studios to aid development…” (but hey, sure buying entire external studios and throwing them in, must be evidence it’s “same game studio”!)
yeah. that “same game studio”. where director, lead designer were fired, half the team went away, was replaced by people hired from other studios who had little to no previous experience with the franchise, and meanwhile reworking at a script from someone from another title, under the new design of someone coming from different franchises, and the rest couldn’t see the moment to break free from d3 influence. but i guess those are concepts hard to understand indeed… for someone who thinks that’s the “same game studio”. lol. got it! nice try, take a cookie.
How I was playing my rogue during the server slam all I had was knockdown from poison trap triggering and stun if I evaded through them and then hit them with flurry. Didn’t matter though because any elite was dead by the time that combo ended. It just made you have to pay attention to proper positioning and you were rewarded for displaying skill on the battlefield.
Burst is king when you don’t have consistent uptime.
You focus on guaranteeing your HoTA at Full Fury to Overpower and boosting your HP/Fortify and Overpower Damage. Take skills that boost your Crit/Crit Damage with 2H and Damage to Stunned enemies. Your HoTA with the Aspect will become AoE also clearing a map with an Overpower Crit. You can gurantee enemies will be Vulnerable also unleashing an absurd amount of damage all stacked up. Oh yeah, and with this rotation you will be Berserking to cap it off.
The fun thing is that this can be repeated often and you are not relying on only Bash to generate Fury. You will be getting it fast with your other skills I listed.
Bosses that cannot be Stunned are not that much of an issue because the absurd damage windows during Stagger. Bosses with adds nearby act as a resource tool for you.
This is an older link I need to update and swap some things but you can get the point:
