This game has got some wicked VRAM issues. The textures used must be just eatting tons of the cache. However, my VRAM usage is at 95% and my game keeps turning into a slide show while playing on 4k resolution. This needs to be looked at because it appears that you’ve had reports of similar problem all the way back in March.
The most likely cause of this is swapping from VRAM to RAM (hence the stutters) so it doesn’t just cause a hard crash. This obviously is an incredibly poor experience. Can this please be looked into…
(Bear in mind that the game works flawlessly 70-80 FPS, until I hit 90-95% VRAM then BAM! 18 fps, then back up to 80, then 10, then back up to 80)…
Thanks for responding. I can’t see how my firewall would upset the game other than packets inspection being broke with windows firewall? Which would be a fairly big issues since a firewall is only supposed allow/deny traffic on inbound/oubound ports if rules are declared.
Tbh since turning shadows down (again smaller textures so less VRAM hogging) I’ve had a fairly smooth experience.
My settings so far:
Everything set to highest possible but these are the settings I’ve turned down:
DLAA
Max FPS: 120
Texture quality: High
Shadow Quality: High
Reflex: Disabled
VSync: On
Everything else is at maximum possible. Now my VRAM hoovers around 92% and I don’t get ‘as much’ stuttering (though is can happen here-and-there).
