Visual Artifacts after updating to Nvidia's current driver 551.61 and Nvidia App

Sections of the screen are moving, parts of the screen resemble screen tearing but not exactly, parts of the UI periodically jitter, and names periodically jitter and shift about.

This only happened after the recent driver update. I’ve tested various other games and I do not encounter any visual problems with those games that I’m aware of.

CPU 7800X3D
GPU 1080 Ti
RAM 16Gb @ 6000 Mhz
Monitor PG279Q Fixed Framerate/ ULMB/ G- Sync problem occurs regardless of monitor mode.

The driver that started the problem is 551.61, The problem persists even after rolling back to driver 546.65, I believe I was on a driver from December before that but I don’t remember exactly which driver it was.

I uninstalled the Nvidia app and went back to Geforce Experience, reset all Nvidia settings, and restarted the computer after each change and it persisted.

I guess I’ll roll back to a November Driver and see if that corrects the artifacts.

If the problem is still happening after rolling back your drivers then check your temperature! You’re GPU may be overheating or the cooling may have died, artifacts generally are not a good sign for the GPU :frowning:

Do you use any programs like EVGA precision X or MSI afterburner? Check to make sure you didn’t accidentally overclock something.
