Too many Aspects nobody uses

Anyone else feel like there’s way too many aspects? Not just that but many that people don’t even use?

Honestly I hope they rework this system one day. Maybe take some of the lesser useful ones and put them into the skill tree… maybe then they will be of use.

Any specific ones on your mind?

Aspects on items is not a good item design imo.

Lower their power, keep some cool skill altering effects and bake them into something else such as skill tree, or make them into jewels and put them into a dedicated slot similar to idols in Last Epoch or paragon board or something else.

This is just aspects with different steps. If the end result is the same I don’t say why a change is warranted

Options are good.

Not everyone plays the META.

Play your way.

How are you coming to this conclusion?

Nice try Rod, you cant fool me .

It’s not always about meta. Some aspects are just giving more X damag than others. I understand what you mean that some aspects are not used because of the specific builds. But some are just giving more damage boost than others

I do feel the higher the number of aspects the higher the number of useless for anyone gear but I do need the gold or mats so It’s OK with me.

The problem I see with aspects is that while people talk about class balance we forget there needs to be balance within classes too. With Rogues (just more familiar with that class) I wish in this day and age a Penshot Rogue can be as good as a Death Trap Rogue.

I often wonder if this is used by anyone:

When an enemy falls below 35% Life while afflicted with any of your damage over time effects, an explosion occurs every 7 seconds, dealing [300 - 525] damage for each Element they’re afflicted by.

I think they have intentionally poor ones to make the good rare stuff even rarer.

oh that’s simple, pretty much anything that doesn’t have an [ X ] in the description lmao

I don’t see any situation where this would be the best aspect for any slot, in the current state.

I think it’s safe to assume they are reworking aspects and the skill tree in the future because you can’t change one without the other

They also somewhat talked about this in the last fireside stream

D4 should rework the skill tree and add a mini passive tree for each active skill (Last Epoch’s system) and move all skill modifying aspects / unique effects there. This will allow players to play different builds without relying on certain aspect or uniques. Items should provide more general effects such as inner calm, disobedience, etc.

All the aspects have some value based on the build you are trying to make.

The problem is they don’t compare to multiplers. So while multipliers don’t have a cap from aspects…they will always win out and render the others obsolete.

I have only found one aspect that is an exception to this…but it is not obvious at first why. When you consider it though…it makes sense.

100% agree, aspects should never be on the gear from the beginning.

Very bad design desision copied from D3, but it’s still one of the most obvious possible changes to improve the overall quality of the game.

As long as the aspects remain on gear, it will never allow to significantly improve itemization, any changes will remain just bandaging for 1 or 2 seasons.
