Too few players on server (many times none)...increase per instance limits or make pvp servers asap

For the The last week or so, i’ve been logging on to find NO players on my server instance. Occasionally one or two will pop in…But this is crazy on weekends when multiple sites are showing 300K active users per hour…

Some of us need some critical mass of players to have fun.
Standing in the pvp area all day waiting for one other person to come through, and then usually have them leave after one fight, is depressing not fun.

@blizzard ya gotta do something to keep pvp interested people busy.
Let us pick servers, increase per server instance limits, or make pvp servers.

Some ppl are lagging with just 12 ppl per shard, so don’t hold your breath.

No players on PvP, are you sure?

I just logged in during weekend today, and found so many players already there, it was so busy I had to keep running around the whole map with my mount.

Same here. But reading some of these other posts, the games are full to the brim with players. I’ve not seen more than one other player in any game I’ve joined in what’s going on the last 8 days. I began checking when I noticed nobody but me showing up for Legion or World Boss events.

But yeah, I’m still plodding around in NMD’s to level my paragon glyphs and run an occasional helltide for yet more worthless crap drops.

YEah see that seems awesome…i just never seem to have people in my servers.
I had one night where there were around 5 - 6 people brawling in pvp, but that was peak action.

I thought it might be a lack of players on Eternal…but im seeing the same thing on S1 servers.

90% of the players at launch have already abandoned the game and moved on. They should just merge whoever is left onto a few servers so it feels like there are more people in the world.

It is normal no players are showing up for Legion events since the changes was made to the open world scaling of monster 5 levels below a player current level. Do you truly want to waste time killing monsters 5 levels below your current level, it basically gives no experience.

For world boss events, the drops are also terrible, the only time I go to the world boss events are for the prism drops when I ran out of it.

I believe most players are focusing on nightmare dungeons which gives better loot since the monster density has increased in nightmare dungeons, and players can easily find a lot of elites monsters in nightmare dungeons, and glyph experience are very important which players can only obtain it by completing nightmare dungeons.

There are 300k active players right now…so player loss isnt the issue, it’s the limit on per server instance player density.

Just curious, what’s the source for this number?

I can’t speak to the technical challenges of increasing player density per server…i’m sure it is a factor when considering the whole open world.

This is why one of my suggestions is creating pvp specific servers, where things can perhaps be streamlined to support more players.

Not a chance in hell, they have 300k concurrent players right now.

Their servers are not handling that, in the games current state.

I agreed on this, Blizzard should make a server PvP for players who wanted to PvP to log onto this server

Players who want to do quest or events, nightmare dungeons could use the normal server to play whichever mode they wanted.

This would greatly increase the number of players in the PvP zone since all players are logged onto the PvP server mainly for PvP against other players only.

hundreds of thousands active right now.

Well there is your issue you are in the pvp area and not playing the actual game… no wonder you don’t see anyone LOL :joy:

I understand that that is the case currently, i play a lot of them…

it’s just that i see so much potential with this one to be fun and have a lot of draw for players to keep coming back long after lvl100, without all the pressure being on developing more pve ‘end game content’.

Also, why make the game open world and mmo but make pvp an afterthought. Players shouldn’t just be ships in the night in this game…it’s a huge missed opportunity.

That source is not reliable.

That’s how it is in all MMO’s, even WoW.

People pay very little attention to PvP.

It’s better if you stick to like Fighting games, FPS or Moba

Well, once i made a build that could waltz through lvl 100 nmd, and leveling all glyphs to 21, there wasnt much more to see there. After killing every world boss, doing plenty of helltides and legion events, repeating those things is currently pointless unless fishing for gear (which i still am to improve my pvp builds, but running out of motivation since i so rarely get to test said builds)

PVP has shown a few moments of great promise that if harnessed, refined and made more commonplace, could provide unlimited replay fun, and provide a reason to go back into the pve content to try new meta builds and such.
This is why i’m advocating for pvp improvement.

LOL find a real pvp game, trying to force this to be that for you is sad.
