I hit a wall in pit 52, not dying but running out of time. One node away from Ceaseless Conduit Legendary node…so yeah NMD seemed like the way to go… 
Probably going to need at least 210 and the last Glyph.

It’s always amazed me that hundreds and thousands of Sanctuary residents die daily- yet they somehow still have population. After 5-10 years of that, they’d all be extinct.

Or the dungeon events where they are surrounded and you have to save the helpless people then at the end, they give you a chest full of useful items that they didn’t bother to use.

There is usually something you can click on the ground etc., like a note that tells you about the backstory on why things are like they are in the dungeon. It might not be near the place where you recused them but it’s in there somewhere.
Find it, click it and I suspect it was not spiders after all that tied them up.

Dude was tied to a pole by spiders…pretty sure he did not have time to make a journal entry, because he did not see it coming…
The prisioners are generally like the puzzle/task (puzzle is probably too strong a word here) to open the next thing, they generally have no backstory.
The corpses may have something to do the environmental story telling.
As of today, you can do that with a NOSE following you around! Imagine the stories those poor spider captives would tell their grandkids.
“I remember when this cool guy with a staff of Liam Neeson rescued me from the Spider Queen. He had a giant nose hopping around him, snorting up gold.”
“Grandpa, it’s time for your healing potion!”
