You never cease to amaze me Avalon. You took the time to fish out old posts. Amazing you are.
Now that I’ve had some serious play time on this game - the original commentary stands. It is trash. You know it is too.

I just hope the best dungeons are never the ones with a spider boss.
Seriously, F that boss. I hate it.
Not an Airport no need to say good bye or announce departures.
Which streamer actually started the complain about not enough mob density that people are spewing here on the forum and reddit. x)
Like we must play different games as I always have mobs and not an empty dungeon. For ridiculous amounts of monsters there is PoE.
I am happy that I can see something else than my screen full of enemies. Also there are every 3 meters mob groups, big events and so on, I do not understand the complain.
And when 99% of players move on, who’s paying enough at the cash shop to fund future content?
The game is just very bland and same-y. Less visual variety than D2, and way less than D3. Everything so desaturated that it all blends together (other than the Burning Hells, which look great - they weren’t afraid of vibrant colors there).
He is too selfish to understand that concept. This player base will dwindle quickly. It’s astounding how out of touch the devs are with the community.

Literally everything about the game is bland and homogenized. Soundtrack? I hope you enjoy the same repeating ambience! Visuals - well, you already said. Skills - yawn, all the same. Quests, dungeons, playable content? All the same. Difficulty between areas? All the same, thank you level scaling and endless nerfing of dungeons.
Sounds like it’s your first ARPG. If you want wow, go back to it. We already have that game.
D3 - infinite procedurally generated Rifts.
POE - infinite procedurally generated Maps.
LE - infinite procedurally generated Shards.

.
D4 - 2 static dungeons
Looks like someone else have zero experience with ARPG
No skills stand out, no items are outstanding,
That’s good then. Becoz if there is one that stands out, EVERYONE would be on it. It’s good if everyone is different.
Running GRs over and over again is the same content. Let’s not pretend otherwise.

D4 is D4. It doesnt need to be a copy of D3, POE or LE.
Static Dungeons? The layout might be similar BUT there are affixes that changes gameplay. This is some D4 that no other ARPG has. And I like it. They copied WoW’s M+.
And the gear system allows us to make our own legendary instead of waiting and waiting for a drop with perfect stats on each row.
Ik i will get hate for this but untill proven otherwise i think what blizz is wanting endgame to be is the grind to 100 at least that is what vibe i get… only logical reason they keep nerfing stuff… they dont want people at 100 yet.
Now ill take the L if proven otherwise but thats my take presently
You’re right. Especially the classes. I can’t even bring myself to start another character because they all function the same way.
I have no idea what their vision was for this game at this point. It’s like they have 4 different chefs in the kitchen. It’s so uninspired and bland.
Sadly, the people who still think the game is good probably don’t even know what the world homogenized means.
It’s a bad thing because they are working in reverse, instead of increasing the mob density to match the most played content and encourage diversity via valid options they are decreasing the mob density in the highest played content to bring it down to the rest of the content; which results in dungeons that don’t feel particularly fun to run.
Since the betas huge chunks of the community have been mentioning how the mob density in dungeons feels too low and how backtracking through empty halls isn’t particularly fun and yet instead of fixing this problem Blizzard is doubling down on making it worse.
Todays hotfix is basically a guarantee that any piece of content that has a remotely high mob density is going to have it drastically lowered.
This is absolutely terrible for a game designed around fighting a large number of enemies; hell certain mechanics don’t even function unless you are hitting 5-10 enemies at once, which means encountering packs of 4-6 enemies at time will make these mechanics completely voided.
Not to mention that trash mobs pose zero challenge whatsoever. Fighting a pack 3 elites is more dangerous than fighting 50 mobs that die in 1-2 hits; but Blizzard is so worried about people leveling that they would rather neuter the games difficulty rather than just let people power level.
Design choices like this actively make the game less interesting, less challenging, and less rewarding. I don’t understand how any one can look at these decisions and think that they are making the game better.
Why do I need future content? I’m cool with the current game. Got value for my purchase already.
I play diablo 98% solo so it’s not exactly a deal breaker ![]()
PoE had affixes in end game maps already 10 years ago and on top of that, they did it better 10years ago than D4 now.
And yet you are here playing D4. Go back to PoE if you like it.
there isn’t really a variety in all of the dungeon being the same. is just the same thing with a different name. you could argue that the real variety was actually not all of them being the same thing.
It’s because they’re appealing to casual console players. Sad.
instead of making all dungeons with high denisity and fun we gonna make all dungeons DULL and TERRIBLE! have fun folks!
