As they have said before 90% of the playerbase has not completed the campaign so the focus for release was the 1-50 experience.
Thats why season 1 is coming so soon and why they said that its already complete.
They did this on purpose to get it out earlier and then put out season 1 before the casuals catch on and put down the game
You’re high to be able to keep playing the game after lvl 50, because its definitely not possible while sober.
The game needs more epic boss fights and goals like POE.
Every 5-10 levels post level 70 should have had a capstone or ECHo boss with loot table that could be farmed.
POE does such a good job of pinnacle bosses it’s strange D4 didn’t just copy this model more.
Season 1 will be a decisive moment for this game and if it lacks content then the game will loss many players IMO.
All I see is a rushed product that wasn’t ready for release and the content they couldn’t get added to the game they decided to disguise it with season 1, first season only 2 months into release? We all see it
If you like the pre season beta test, yeah you have stockholme syndrome with Diablo.
if you disagree with me theres something wrong with you
Narcissistic tendencies really are prevalent in your generation arent they.
I wouldn’t say there’s no game, it’s just more of what you’ve been doing since level 1. Same enemies, same dungeons, same events. “We got separated…m-my friends were cut down!”
Using hell tides as an example is a great baseline idea, but again, same enemies and events you’ve been doing since the start, but now you’re given currency to open a chest. It could have been a lot more interesting, with its own special creature types, quests/events that lead you across the hell tide helping the towns that could lead to a big final boss, and puzzles imho
I got my money’s worth but does feel like they did the bare minimum

Blizzard is a 30 year old company. Redefining genres has NEVER been their thing lol. They take existing concepts and polish them. Eventually over time I’d expect some small innovations in seasons the same way they’ve innovated in Hearthstone, Wow etc… but if you were expecting a radical and creative take on the genre this was never going to be it lol.[/quote]
well on the one hand you are right and i agree, but on the other they not only “polish” existing concepts but literally revolutionize them (or thats what they did in the past before the activision blizzard fusion, now its all about making as much money as possible, we all know that).
look at starcraft and how insanely good it was when they released it… it was literally a revolution to the rts genre because it was miles better than anything else back then and not only that, but it was also its own thing. no generic content to be found here.
look at warcraft 3… another literal revolution to the rts genre, implementing rpg elements successfully, pushing the genre into unknown areas.
look at world of warcraft which mainstreamed the already existing but tiny mmo genre (i know all the other mmos from back then, i even played some of those before WoW but never liked them. WoW on the other hand was stellar from the first moment i touched it in eu beta (its not that great anymore sadly, but its still “playable and enjoyable” (talking about retail).
starctaft 2 refined what they made with starcraft in the best way possible.

ok lets talk about diablo now. i played them all from the first one (except immortal i didn’t touch that garbage and i’m more than happy i didn’t. i obviously checked it out on youtbue and in streams though !). diablo is kinda a problematic child here as d3 was a revolution on terms of gameplay for the arpg genre and for diablo games compared to the second one (the second one is very limited as in you only do the same thing all the time…). i know how ppl hated the artstyle but i actually loved it because it was interesting and had a lot of dynamic and variation in all those environments. sure, it could have been a bit! darker and bloodier, more satanic, i agree on that, but it still was cool. gameplaywise it actually created an endgame for arpgs with the adventure mode, albeit it released 2 years after the base game if i remember correctly, with the ros xpac.
with this adventure mode they revolutionized the genre already, i can agree on this, BUT now we come to diablo 4. they developed it for like 8 years from what i read and all they came up with a neither another revolution (which they could have done with todays tech and all the time they had) nor is it a polishing of diablo 3’s endgame.
they expanded diablo 3’s endgame, but its far less polished than it should be. its miles more generic and more limited in terms of “endgame activities”. now all you do is running the same handful of dungeon layouts or events with the same identical legion events, the same identical (3) world boss fights. thats kinda it and its not good enough for 8 years of additional development on the basis of diablo 3’s endgame ![]()
If you purchased a Diablo game for the campaign you deserve to have your money taken from you.
I agree the game should have been released in a more finalized state… but I also feel like that’s just part of gaming in the age of the internet I’m afraid…
And ironically the one game I feel like Blizzard really did innovate was Diablo. I’d played Dune before Warcraft (and C&C came out around the same time,) and EQ/Ultima/FF11 etc were already huge before WOW, but I’d never played an ARPG game like Diablo before the first one. I’m sure there were others, but Diablo was the first of the genre I ever encountered. So it would have been nice to see them innovate the one genre they basically created… but I wasn’t really expecting it.
Im level 90 and i don’t see the difference you must be playing another Diablo.
- MOM I WANT SOMETHING BETTER
- What is it exactly, honey?
- I DONT KNOW I JUST NEED SOMETHING BETTER
- Better as in what, sweetheart?
- BETTER AS IN BETTER THAN WHAT I HAVE REEEE
Seriously, these people nowadays are always MORE MORE BETTER FASTER. Goldifsh attention span looking a$$
well, the world didn’t build itself upon ignorant people like you seemingly are, accepting everything everyone throws at you. you get sold a piece of horse sh*t, the seller calls it a gold bar and you really think its a gold bar. thats how ignorant you are.
if everyone would be like you, you would still play diablo 1 (ONE) today because there would have been zero progress in this genre because you were good with it back in the 90s and didn’t want anything more or better… pretty pathetic tbh ![]()
I am glad you financed the game i am continuing to enjoy. Cya!
If you purchased a Diablo game for the campaign you deserve to have your money taken from you.
Untrue.
Diablo 3 had an excellent campaign. I have played through the story many many times and feel I more than got my money’s worth from just the campaign alone. Hell I bought every DLC just so I could play through the campaign as the Crusader and Necro.
Nah nah, man, I’m gonna be real, what really is pathetic is buying something without knowing what you spend your hard-earned money on and then complaining about the product being not anything like what you’ve fantasized about it ![]()
Oh and also, if the notion of my post that asking something BETTER without specifying what this “better” is flew above your head, I’m really sad about your reading comprehension. But no worries, you’ll learn to understand the concept of irony in the 6th grade once you get there.
I agree, I stopped playing shortly after the campaign and so did my playing partner.
Your high. Game barely starts at 50.
I beg to differ. The endgame is level 50. You do the Capstone Dungeon and unlock WT3. You do Tree of Whispers bounties and get a reward. You do Helltides, and accumulate currency for mystery chests. You do world bosses. You do nightmare dungeons.
What changes at Level 70? Nothing. The game gets harder. That’s it. The only level at which things change is 100, which is when you fight Uber Lilith.
technically it IS an MMORPG…you know with D4 being online with millions of other players.
I agree… the endgame of D4 is just an infinite mindless hamster wheel of farming the same gear from the same mobs over and over again. It got me bored extremely quick. Getting our characters stronger feels so useless because of world scaling…
