And that is why we are all pissed. Some of us paid 100.00 for that campaign.

The campaign has always existed just to lead you on a tour of the regions of the game.

What exactly? Everything feels the same from lvl ~15 to lvl 100. Just small numbers on your unvaried gear keep changing.

There never will be. The stockholme syndrome idiots will tell you otherwise.

I thought it got way better after 50. The campaign grind was terrible. Randomly walking around picking up renown and getting into events that proc while you do it is way more fun. Discord message from a friend that World boss is ticking down and signing on real quick to group and participate. Rolls as a 4 man helping a new member beat some dungeons. Going to uncover some lingering fog and seeing a helltide and trying to get an chest or two before it expires… Its all fun IMO. Way better than the lackluster story.

i would actually rephrase his title by saying:

there is a game after level 50, but its not good at all because its super monotonous, boring, insanely badly balanced etc…

There is you just don’t like it. That’s fine, but you should’ve done your homework. If you don’t like the grind and open-ended gameplay you could’ve always waited for a sale :man_shrugging:

There is quite some content unlocking around 50. Dont know what you are talking about.
Maybe not enough diversity to keep you going and keep your sanity all the way until 100, but it certainly doesnt stop at 50.

Wrong, there is no more story after 50 (until expac release). After that is becomes a sort of sandbox hybrid. Plenty of things to do, you just don’t want to do them.

I mean… that’s every RPG since like… the first RPG lol. Yall are just ADD AF these days…

The loops are significantly better… but grinding is just a part of RPGs.

You don’t even know what you paid for so I’m gonna have to say you ain’t worried about 70 bucks.

true, BUT they had 8 years of development to make it better than this and what they came up with is generic grind. sorry, but we aren’t in the year 2000 anymore where mindless grind is good enough because theres nothing else there  in 8 years of development they could have come up with a revolutionary endgame, but they didn’t.

i agree they made the gameplay loop better than it was in diablo 3, BUT only barely! AND simultanously they made it much more generic because all dungeons are nearly identical to each other, all events are very similar to each other etc. i feel like diablo 3 endgame was more versatile because the dungeons had more variation (much more), the enemies had more variation etc.

I wonder if this game was free to play up until level 50 (or campaign clear) how many people would buy it to continue on. And out of those people, how many would buy it if the free to play was set at level 85 or so. There are things to do after 50, they just don’t seem very robust or in depth.

Personally I wish they had some sort of nearly endless dungeon we could do. Or a tower with 100 levels or such, that got progressively harder as you go. World bosses past 80 are a joke, they die in 5 seconds, there is no build up, no story or feeling of engagement. Nightmare dungeons feel quite boring and unrewarding. Tree of whisper quests fell off at about 60 for me. Helltides would be fun if the mob density was increased by like 100x, and mob difficulty as well.

Blizzard is a 30 year old company. Redefining genres has NEVER been their thing lol. They take existing concepts and polish them. Eventually over time I’d expect some small innovations in seasons the same way they’ve innovated in Hearthstone, Wow etc… but if you were expecting a radical and creative take on the genre this was never going to be it lol.

I mean… how many people would do anything if you only starting charging after 40 hours lol…?

You mean like say maybe versions of existing dungeons, just with more difficulty as the levels progressed. They could like number the levels from 1 to 100 as they got more difficult. You could call them like dream dungeons. Or wait… they’re evil so maybe like… “bad dream dungeons.” “Really bad dream dungeons?” I dunno, we’ll workshop the title, but great idea!

What i mean is, the campaign to me, felt great. After that, nothing. I have played all of the diablo games since 1 and many other knock offs from it. The one thing I feel like I lost after the campaign on this one, was any sense of exploration or immersion. The nightmare dungeons to me don’t feel like a neat area to explore, or some creepy cave where I might die around the next corner. They feel like a random number generator with 4-5 variables.
