The temper system does not respect our time

bricking gear with no way to reset, having to reroll a rogue to temper… all are things that don’t respect our time. I don’t mind grinding but having this insane level of RNG on top broke me today. I can’t continue anymore. hopefully they do something next season

i havnt got the tempering i needed for the lkast 2-3 weeks. im just done with the company if they want to treat us this way. especially since a good 3x ga item is more rare then a mageblood and instant bricks.

I absolutely have never had an issue with tempering. 7/10 times i always get the affix i want even if its the last roll. Rng be rng i guess :man_shrugging:

i wonder, at what pit level are the both of you, or to be more specific, what item do you need to achieve whatever goal?

very lucky but a system like that shouldnt be luck based but put in work. the luck should be on the item drop not once you get the item

well, isnt that great? tier 200 shouldnt be doable in theory, so yea, you hit a high pit tier level, and cant progress right now.

weighted bad luck tempering is just bad. i have 8 2x-3x items in my stash all bricked. I quit the season 2 days ago. im here to let the devs know im done for now and give feedback and really couldnt care less what you think about it.

If you didnt care then you wouldnt have replied.

Even worse than bricking is the simple fact some affixes never drop; or at least so rare they essentially don’t exist in the game. + to Ice Shards is my example. I have received exactly 10 gloves with this affix or the + to Core skills. Most have been +1 or 2, not +3; and only one has other affixes even remotely useful. In a single session I’ll get 5 gloves with + to Frozen Orb; zero Ice Shards.

So what to do? Try rolling Ice Shards, right? Well, not only can you brick a good piece of gear with tempering, you can also brick your account by spending all of your mats and gold and never see a single roll of + to Ice Shards. I’ve spent millions trying. As far as I can tell, + to Ice Shards doesn’t exist in the affix RNG.

i mean, on tempering people complain because they get the same temperings all the time (due to a small pool of options), on enchanting, people complain because they dont get what they want (due to a bigger pool of afixes depending on the gear slot.)

dont get me wrong, yea it can suck if you dont get the gear you want, but when to peopl finally learn that this is an arpg based on rng?

yup pretty much. I get 242 helth regen life per hit resource everything but meaningful GA’s like attack speed or lucky hit opr crit chance. god forbid a ga skill actually drops

There should be a way to reset it, but it should be very costly else we would easily all just run around with perfect gear. A better alternative down the road would perhaps be to implement consumables to use in the tempering process that would let us lock out affixes.

I’ve had Blizzard roll 12 consecutive fails on a 60% roll… the probability of that happening in a fair RNG is 0.00024 … by experience, my guess is the Blizzard RNG isn’t even close to being fair. And that’s where it bugs me. Blizzard should be honest with the odds: if you want a roll to be one in a thousand, say so: don’t lie and say it’s 50/50.

rng is fine when it comes to the base items dropping. poe does that well or crafting where the rng took place in the first 3 steps not the last step. diablos rng is done badly atm but that being said i have faith its a work in progress. its a lot better then it was but this weighted bad rng feels terrible with countless rolls to prove the rng is bad. use rogue as example for a bow. 1 in 5 to hit what you actually need for the first temper and then a 1 in 4 to hit what you need on the 2nd temper with only 7 rolls. every one of the other rolls is worthless and better off using a non ga item

start respecting your time yourself first and stop playing games then… arpgs are meant to be time, life, social family, money, food sinks…
