Paragon nodes within range gain +15.0% bonus to their Fire damage and damage reduction modifiers.
But when I socket it into the Burning Instinct board, the two rare nodes within range didn’t get bonuses:
Cinders: +20.0% Damage to Burning Enemies
Smoldering Embers: 10.0% Damage Reduction from Burning Enemies
Whether I socket the Glyph or not, the numbers just don’t change.
Is “Damage to Burning Enemies” not counted as “Fire damage modifier”?
I found threads saying it’s bugged, like from more than half a year ago, it can’t still be bugged, can it? I mean this is Blizzard and Diablo IV, not some solo dev indie studio…
I don’t think there are any other place on any of the paragon boards that is remotely close to “fire damage and damage reduction modifiers” that the glyph asks for.
If the “+% damage to burning enemies” doesn’t count as “fire damage modifier”, then it would seem that this glyph is only good for its “additional bonus” part, which would be weird.
I guess it’s bugged then. Sad that something so important can be bugged for a whole year and no effort is being made to correct it.
Ah thanks. I think I completely disregarded the Searing Heat board.
Searing Heat has the Fire Damage Over Time rare node sitting next to the useless legendary node, on the opposite edge to the glyph socket, and I think my mind just noped out of there and forgot that it existed. lol
The hilarious part is that they did “fix” it; at launch, there actually weren’t any rare nodes matching the glyph’s criteria within range of any glyph slot. I believe they fixed this for S1, probably because it was both extremely obvious and no doubt embarrassing that such an absurd problem could make it into live code.
Just wondering if the Pyromaniac glyph would work in the first board, improving the 5% non physical damage and 1.5% resistance to all elements, as they include fire I assume?
There is a glyph for lightning nodes, but there is no paragon board with a glyph socket that has lightning nodes near it. Or at least that was the case back in S0. Not sure if they changed anything over the past year, but I don’t think they did.
