I absolutely love the new season. But the pit is ridiculous. The shadow bosses shouldnt be in every boss fight. Or they should be nerfed to half damage. My solution to fix a lot of issues with gold and rare item drops, would be to only have these shadow bosses every 10 fights or so. Then add an added drop item in the chest like rare crafting mats and an extra cash of gold. The fact that the bosses feel 10x stronger than the enemies due to the 1 shot BS is sucking life out of this game right now. Many of us were looking forward to finally experiencing this game at it’s fullest this season with making multiple characters and gearing them to max. We aren’t able to do this or even enjoy this with one character. A tougher boss with harder mechanics to work towards and build up for is fine. But every single tier having a boss with 1 shot capabilities is absolutely stupid. I hate stuff like this in games. It makes me feel like the person behind it actually hates players. Like we are being punished for spending money on your product lol. I enjoyed every new change to this season except the ridiculous shadow bosses with waaaaay over the top attacks. Some of their combinations are impossible to avoid even when unstoppable. The slight pause when you dash or cast makes it an auto death in many fights especially above 61 imo. Im not even gonna touch on the instant deaths from nothing… Don’t make a game where it’s encouraged to level fast and explore other characters then punish us when we want to gear fast and do just that.

That said I feel a lot better now that I have my HP over 60k (no buffs) and DR around 100%, also a big one is Movement speed, cap if possible. The reson is that the evades are just not enough (in my opinion). I burn though them and they don’t move me all that much; but high movement speed really helps.
Wouldn’t mind as much if some of them were easier to see.
I agree my speed is up and i can defeat the bosses…most the time. I just feel like having an uber lilith type fight every damn boss fight is dumb AF. Why do all these great and wonderful things to this game and then shoot urself in the foot with this type of bs…
Fix the GD one-shotting ffs
You can’t have 100% DR. It’s multiplicative per source (not additive), and caps at 85%.
The general formula is [1-(1-DR1%) * (1-DR2%) * (1-DR3%)…]
Thus if you 20% DR on one piece, and 20% on another, your actual DR is 36%.
DR applies step-wise. Take 1000 damage, it gets reduced by 20% to 800, then the 800 get reduced by 20% to 640. Voila! 36% from your original 1000.

I was just going by what my gear/skills says for simplicity. +60, +20, +25… + a bunch of 10 and smaller sources.

Movement speed and health are a big plus. I totally agree, but…why have a boss fight at every tier like this? A lot of issues with end game would be fixed with some boss dmg nerfing and added drops.
If there is literally no benefit to doing above a 60 who cares if it’s balanced beyond that? Blizzard obviously doesn’t want people playing it past 60.
Maybe they’ll adjust them but I doubt it’ll happen as fast as you all want. It’ll probably be months later before this gets into a good spot.
61+ drops mats for anything over 8 Masterwork.
Other than that, it’s really bragging rights/personal accomplishment. And it seems to be working, with all the butt hurt on the forums about being unable to clear 130+.
61 drops only 20 mats. Add 1 material for every lvl after that. Its not just braggin rights. We want to max our gear out as fast as possible and then start a new character. Whether it be another of the same type but with a different set up or another class entirely.
My point is that the shadow boss bs is out of hand and completely over the top. I dont want to put the grind in for 7 or 8 mins of, say tier 100, enemies just to be 1 shotted 2xs in a row by random shadow boss bs. The shadows dont always materialize on screen in the final stage. A lot of the times its a 1 shot by nothing u can see. Or its all over the area and no place to dodge/avoid. They are prioritizing holdin back that top 5% of players while infact they are actually killing the other 95%s enjoyment in end game.

Nah its 61. But ya it takes a lot of mats and an outrageous amount of gold after mw 8. The 1 shot shadow bs and lack of gold are huge issues in late game.
Im always slower getting to endgame because I like going back and forth between two characters. Right now both are in late 70s.
I hate the one shots in this game because a lot of the time I cant even see them. The improved settings options have helped improve clarity a bit, but sometimes they come so fast that it doesnt matter.

idk what are you doing but no boss can one shot my character at 115pit. maybe stop following maxtroll third class guides guides and focus on defenses, damage reduction items, might as well hover your mouse or controller over places to dodge stuff.
My problem with the shadow bosses is you apparently cannot out gear the mechanic. I finished pit 49 on my sorcerer. I decided I was going to trade some life regen and 83 int for more max life and armor. At this point, I had NOT been one shot by any shadow boss on levels 49 and below.
Once I put on new pants and swapped to a ring with my more life, my life and armor went from ~20.5k each to about ~24.2k armor and ~23.3 life. Thousands more of each. I leveled them to 4/12 and then I did a 41 pit run. Well below the 49 I last completed. The shadow boss then one shot killed me every single time.
Before, It would take 95% of my health and take a few potions to get back to full. So 8 levels below my max, with at least 2,500 more life and armor, they started one shotting me. How do you gear for this insanity? I’d have expected maybe 80% of my life gone after the changes. Nope, I get one shot now where I didn’t before with less life and armor 8 pit levels higher.
Those bosses are not coded to do a flat amount of damage. If they were, I’d have had more life left, not start getting one shotted. I’m watching the NHL playoffs now. Diablo 4 is still bad. It will be bad until Rod Ferguson and his “kiss and curse” crap is gone.
The one shot mechanics are such an embarrassment. What is wrong with the devs? The shadows are very hard to see and sometimes impossible with everything else on the ground. The caps on defenses are a lame way to try to make content harder. It has become the season of health, and it’s boring. I have nothing left to do but pits and tormented bosses. There doesn’t seem to be much point. The season is better overall, but these constant missteps are annoying. Maybe if they actually played their own game, they’d see how bad these designs are.
The one-shot mechanic makes it fun in a group.
Ran about 30 runs of pit 80 tonite and we had a blast. Force you to rez your teammates mid-fight in high-stress situations. I really enjoyed it.
