Are they for real?

Just saw the post on YouTube and checked the link to the notes.

Oh goodie, so they are making MW ranks 1-4 “cost substantially less”.

WHO CARES ?! Those ranks cost next to nothing to begin with, nor does this address the core issue which is having to reset and start from scratch past rank 8.

Just change it to only undo 4 ranks at a time, or if that’s not really feasible for some reason then at least tell us while you work on another solution geez

Yeah, seems like a pointless change to be honest. It’s the later ranks that become pretty expensive. I mean it’s not like obducite is particularly rare, but it can be tedious at times to farm for it.

First thing I said when I heard this is they will not let a revenue generating time sink slip away. There has to be more to it.

And here we go. More of the used car salesman lip service BS. Like this change these people are a joke. And not a good one.

I know they are adjusting the caches for next season, but damn the ring and amulets cost waaaay too much for the season journey

Admittedly it is a nice change, but it still leaves the core issue of trying to get that 1/64 chance of a triple Crit (and how you can lose power in the process and screw yourself over…)

its a tradition for me to prep 60k obducite before attempting to triple crit.

the grind is the stupid price we have to pay if we want to keep playing the stupid game.

That’s the key right there, farming. Few people would choose to farm for stuff instead of engaging with fun content. Few people want to do days, hours or even minutes of unfun, tedious farming crap just to engage with excellent and engaging content, let alone mediocre swill. Cut the fluff padding, let us engage with the mediocre swill directly and consider making games with truly engaging gameplay in the future.

I didn’t believe it and had to check the patch notes by myself.

What limits Masterworking for me is Obducite, nothing else. Reading the Developer’s Note, I felt like they were making fun of me.

While possible it’s more likely that they’re just completely out of touch on what’s actually a problem in D4. Hanlon’s Razor and all that fun crap.

The OP is right. It’s not the costs for 1-4 that should be lowered but 9-12…

They have checked their metrics, which show that 1-4 are the most used masterworks, which is why they are reducing them. If people masterworked 8-12 more than 1-4 they would be reducing those instead.

Removing obducite reward from pit runs made it a tedious bs chore. They did this to push people back into nightmare dungeons, which still stuck.

I actually fell asleep in IH today… It was probably not longer than 20-30 seconds…but damn this can get boring at times…

How about just nerfing the cost to reroll all MW again to substantially lower, oh wait they did I just read it! Oh boy well that’s a good change.

Yes, indeed, that was kind of the (/s) part of the post.

They lowered the reset cost, but honestly that’s fairly negligible by T3 even.

And if they would just add a checkpoint system already like Rob, Rax and Wudi have all been screaming about literally for months if not a year now…
