All they really needed to do is add a few/several Obducite drop from events here and there and maybe from chests in HT

The problem is not that the game requires to open a NMD or Horde when lacking 300 Obducite, the problem is when the game requires players to do that when they lack 3 or 6

This game should be about grinding for loot, not grinding for materials to make your loot better.
This whole game is f_d. I blame it on the repetitive 3 month seasons.
infernal hordes been broken since start of the season counters dont want to work and other stuff even pit is broken got 94 crit chance and dont see any crit hit damage
I really should just update my post in my rant thread but here’s my issue with Hordes;
Only the party leader, or at least whomever used the Compass should be able to choose modifiers. I absolutely lose my GD mind when people take Spires.
Modifiers are largely boring and don’t affect gameplay nearly enough for what is supposed to be a Roguelike.
actually getting compasses is a complete slog, why can’t we just craft them at a high cost?
the rewards suck. Even on a good run (700+ aether) It just feels wholly inadequate, particularly when it comes to gold and gem fragments. But even the item chest isn’t that great, and it would be nice to have an option to juice it either with more aether, or maybe have a rare modifier that can spawn that increases item quality for severe penalties like +25% cooldowns

Ok, at this point I think if Blizzard keeps listening to players like you, Diablo 4 will start vanish into oblivion a lot more than is currently is.
I mean I understand problems with the game and there many, but this? You are really crying that past rank 8 is hard to rank up or that you have to start over which … even you say that until rank 4 is easy and even to rank 8?! What do you want? 1 button and max gear and level and everything??
Blizzard, S8 may not be the best season, but the nerf in xp and damage and such is the right thing to do and it shows that people have played and are playing S8 more than S7.
So stop listening to players like OP. Thanks!
You guys do realize they’re not actually reducing the Obducite or Gold cost at those levels, right? Just the OTHER materials.
I agree OP.
No point in lowering 1-4… (or even 5-8)… those are dirt cheap to begin with. 9-12 is when it’s pricey.
That’s why I took all my gear to 8/12 yellow stat first… then once there I farmed up a ton of mats (a couple times when I ran out of souls) and finally hit 12/12 orange stat on all 9 pieces of gear.

Yes, they hate their player base because they can sense that said playerbase despises them. The dei team that makes games but doesn’t play, you have seen their “gameplay” video. It is not hard to make the game fun for a person who plays 1-2 hours a day 2-3 days in a week. The current condition makes it so that even 3-4 h a day 5-7 days of the week leaves one with no certain progress barring an extremely lucky drop. They know what the changes they make result in and they do not care. They have neither empathy not sympathy for gamers. They look down on the hobby. It is plain to feel.
I would rather have a 3x costs in all levels but that it lets me choose the stat I want
Couldn’t agree more - tone deaf blizz, not delivering on real pain points in game, just to satisfy the pencil pushing, spreadsheet happy accountants.
While I agree, it has to be at the very least 5x for legendary and 4x for uniques. Realistically double that.
Same problem as paragon system imo… just too many needless levels. Just make master working 3 levels not 12.
Look OP –
The devs still seem to think they’re making a serious game despite de-evolving the game with every patch since 2023.
They want you to have time sinks that literally waste your time because they don’t understand that they’ve changed the game so much that it’s no longer a “game”, in the traditional sense of what makes something a game. The “game” is grinding for masterwork materials and then losing your masterwork materials, at this point.
D4 is a mobile title on PC and Console.
Removing the small amounts of tedium from the game that isn’t afking at the seasonal event or hoping a boss drops you a 3+ GA item would mean there’s literally nothing left for players in the game.
The only thing that keeps people playing at max level is the masterwork grind. Remove that and you’ve effectively reduced the players’ seasonal “play hours” by like 1000%.
Would reducing the required seasonal “play hours” by 1000% be good for your average player, or someone who wants to make a bunch of characters? Sure.
But, would that be good for their internal metrics and cash shop? No.
They simply would never. Gotta entice people with those $28 Berserk skins and quarterly reports, baby.
