Just got randomly deleted by the butcher for the like sixth time.
It’s not fun.
In fact, it’s anti-fun. It cheats so much it makes me want to log out and not play anymore.
Who the heck thought adding this thing in as a “haha, you’re just going to die now” event was a good idea? Doesn’t matter what character i’m on… whenever that thing shows up, I may as well not even bother trying to fight it and just let the death happen fast so I waste less time.
Overpowered nonsense.
I think the next time that thing just shows up because the game wants me to die without a chance, I might log out and not bother going back in.
It is not a fun fight.
Constant running, maybe get a chance to attack once every few seconds… otherwise just run until you get cheat-chain grabbed and pummeled to death.
Just wasted like 10 minutes trying to kill him… got him down to about 5% and of course i ran out of potions and the unmissing cheater godmob finished me off.
Ridiculous.
The butcher is bs.
One or two more times and I’m done with this game for good.
Nice job bliz. I wish you guys could figure out the balance between pushover and total cheating. Things in this game are either a walk in the park or you just get smashed without a chance. Nothing ever feels like a good, viable challenge. We either feel like walking gods… or complete peons. Never anything in between.
And the butcher is even worse because it comes out of nowhere, without warning, and there’s pretty much nothing we can do but just sit back and accept the death. It’s TOO cheaty. It’s not worth the aggrivation to even try beating it. Just… okay game. I undersand. I am going to die now, nothing I can do about it. Just get it over with fast.
Better yet, instead of having the butcher spawn at all, just randomly delete the gold value of one death repair out of my bag. That would be more fun than this cheating pile of garbage.

You can run away. I did the first time I ran into the Butcher at level 8. The second time I ran into him was at level 60 and deleted him pretty easily.

Met him thrice, so far. Wiped the floor with him all 3 times. Butcher is fine the way he is.

Good for you. I guess I just suck at the game. EIther way. I’m not going to play a game that cheat-deletes me at random. Doesn’t matter if the game cheats or I’m not as godly as you guys are… point is. Not fun. Not going to play.

I think you just need to get some better gear or a better build. He killed me the first time, when I was level 13 or so. Every time since then, I’ve killed him with ease. He’s nothing but a free legendary now.

My gear isn’t bad. 58 ice shard sorc, legendaries in every slot. The problem is that there’s almost no time to actually hit him… constantly running. If I stand still long enough to cast at him, I get stepped on.
this is solved with build balancing, but that hasnt happened yet

Nah, he’s fun. My Sorc can just face-tank him for the most part because of all the barrier generation options I have, and he melts because my build isn’t bad.
My barb can 100% face-tank him, and melts him even faster, between all my procs, fortify, barrier, bubble, etc.
Butcher is fine. This is a skill / git gud issue on your part. Hell, I hope they make him harder, as right now, he’s just a slightly tougher elite with a guaranteed Legendary drop.

Getting instantly cheat deleted is not a challenge.
Being crushed with zero chance is not a challenge.
Bliz does not understand “challenge.”
It’s either you crush things easily or you get squished instantly. They never hit anything even remotely resembling challenge.

But do you have the correct legendaries to make a build work? With the right stats? Just slapping any old legendary on and saying ‘My gear is good’ doesn’t fly.

im at 4 for 6 at the moment , early lvls butcher was a no no , now i just laugh at him

Yeah, I have as good as I’ve been able to find with stats that help my build out. damage bonuses, vulnerable damage bonuses, frozen enemy damage bonus and so on. Not random legendaries.
