I sincerely hope Blizzard doesn’t turn our Gear and Weapons into useless “Legacy” items after season 4 ends because that would make all of our hard earned uber unique and unique gear and weapons we earned in season 4 useless in the Eternal Realm, AGAIN!!
Update! - 8/7/24
I have logged into the game and went on the Eternal Realm and checked all of my gear and weapons, and I was happy to find none were affected, nerfed or turned into “Legacy” as it happened last season.
So, thank you Blizzard D4 Team for not nerfing or making our hard earned gear and weapons into useless Legacy items in the Eternal Realm. This is definitely appreciated.
I also noticed Blizzard gave the Eternal Realm some much needed love and the new questline in the Eternal Realm taking players back to the burning hells is pretty awesome! I just started playing Season 5 and so far it’s good.
Many uniques are going to become legacy. The main stats change with altered uniques but affixes dont and uniques are seen as weak so any alterations will increase unique power making all these uniques now trash.
Legendary items should be fine though.
Im not a fan of legacy. I think items should fully change. Legacy should not exist.

I’m just waiting for someone to say this because they don’t have the ability to think of other PEOPLE having different viewpoints or different wants from Diablo 4, such as playing Eternal. I’m waiting for people to say this because they don’t have the emotional intelligence to understand that not everyone wants to waste their very limited game time by restarting their game every couple of months. I’m waiting for someone to say this because they believe that their views is the only one that matters.
I agree 100%, took all season just to get 2 uber uniques. The rest of the uniques i could care less if they go legacy but not the ubers, these are to rare and hard to aquire. This is especially true with the new season only lasting 2 months
Its a bad example. You are comparing physical objects in real world to digital objects in a fantasy world. You can do better.
Legacy items should not exist. Its never a good idea to devalue ultra rare items ppl have acquired or make god tier items that new players can never acquire (in case the update is a nerf like happened alot in POE where legacy items were worth mirrors). All these items should just become the new version. It prevents all of this and is fair to everyone.

@OP - re: Items
Word on the street is that Uni’s and Mythi’s will be retroactively changed - I can only assume that said items will be from SEASON 4 and not ad infinitum - though one never knows.
It matters because a lot of people play on it. It matters because it exists. It matters because Blizzard supports the play style. Just because you have a different play style doesn’t mean someone else’s play style doesn’t matter. Don’t be an ignoramus simpleton.
Really it’s kind of ridiculous to upgrade everyones uniques to the new ones. I pretty much have multiple copies of every unique there is for a barb for instance (except ubers) so there would be no fun at all coming upon the new ones since I already have them. So an entire portion of the update to the game becomes worthless. I have a good number of rogue uniques as well so ditto if I decide to play the only other char I play.
It doesn’t matter who says eternal doesn’t matter or who cares about eternal. All that matters is what blizzard does and we won’t know until they do it or they tell us what they’re going to do.
Hoping they don’t do something won’t change what they have planned at this point.
We’ll find out if eternal matters in a couple days or a week.
When I started the game yesterday, got the info message about what will happen to our seasonal items
“We at Blizzard know how much you value your hard-earned items so you are making sure they are transferred to your Eternal stash so you can salvage or sell them and start fresh farming the new, improved version of those same items”.
