Tempering - fastest way to ruin good gear

I’m to the point where I don’t even want to find an upgrade for my gear because I know it’s just going in the trash anyways. I should start selling all these bricks to masonry companies. I could be a multi-millionaire by the time season 4 is over.

Finding a decent GA item which for me is rare now fills me with dread. Cool game design, huh?

Ita weird how some of you let pixels have such control over you.

I wouldn’t can it dread, but it’s definitely not exciting to get 3ga anymore.

the Devs admitted that they WANT the gear to be a bit of a grind and that bricking your items is part of the game…don’t like it? don’t have to play it, there are plenty of other mmo/arpg’s out there.

Also the item itself is still useable even if you don’t get a temper that you want. Just wear it till you get a similar item that you can then temper. They’ve already made a huge improvement with gear 2.0, and I’m sure it’s going to get better.

If we wouldnt let pixels have some control over us, we wouldn’t play videogames.

There is a point where it becomes unreasonable, such as the line I quoted.

You’re not upgrading anything, you’re completing an item. Masterworking is the upgrade functionality.

Prior to tempering you have an incomplete 3/5.

It’s a feeling that comes over players of the anxiety that is associated with knowing that a cool item that dropped can be ruined.

Yes it reminds me of all the “free” mmos I tried over the years where this sort of gambling was build in, to force you to spend real money. They did then sell a golden orb to to prevent crafting fails. Blizzard did only the gambling part in a silly attempt to not make it too easy but I wish I could pay 1B gold to be able to select the tempers i need so I slowly could save up and progress. Not gamble and lose, and then repeat the boring pit over and over just to watch the “random” selection, choose the same god damn useless temper 5 times in a row. Just stopped being fun. But love the new aspect system. Saved the season for me

People look for upgrades?

cant even be excited over a 1/1000000 drop bc it still has to go through tempering

thats a you-problem

grind is one thing but getting the same temper over and over again is just to me not fun. Have gotten the same temper 8 time in a row when did two swords

thats a game design problem

Found the only upgrade this week, only to get the wrong temper.

They need to either increase the 2/3 GA gear drop rate in chanlleging contents or fix tempering.

well… no.

these items are supposed to be ultra rare and need work to be called endgame items. you’ll find many 1GA items, some 2 GAs and maybe even a 3GA item for your build. if there would be no bricking, their itemization wouldnt work and fit. but as of right now - it does. sufficed to say that you can buy desired items… If you got the coins. And if not: its not blizzards fault the community sells them for unobtainable sums because of RMT. so it has nothing to do with their design.

if you are not up to the challenge - thats a you problem. The design works and its the minority that whines about it. I would say “deal with it” but… You probably wont. Anyways: see you in S5!

And it’s even weirder when a bunch of pixels have no effect.

It’s like ensuring that playing has no effect on you… completely indifferent while you play as if you don’t have fun or feel good while doing it… if that’s the case, you shouldn’t be playing games, much less talking on a game forum.

In other words: If games can make you feel good, they can also make you feel bad.

Again, there is a point people here begin behave like children. If it is causing that much distress you have issues.

And again: if it doesn’t cause any distress you also have a problem.

(I don’t see him threatening to abandon the game, demanding a refund or boycotting the expansion… If you know what I mean.)
