Almost every time I zone through a door, Temerity’s barrier bugs, and either enters with 1-4 hp, or starts ticking down until it’s sitting between 1-4 hp.
However, it’s very hard to NOTICE this, because the barrier UI kinda looks the same at 1hp and 100%hp, especially with fortify.
Taking off Temerity and putting it back on fixes it.
Town portal and come back sometimes fixes it. (but it’s a door, so sometimes it bugs)
I’m pretty sure I’ve had several “wtf just happened” deaths because I thought I had 5k life and 5k shield, but I actually had 5k life and 3hp shield.
I recorded a video of the issue… sorry there is no audio, my mic recorded to a different track and I didn’t spend the time to render it down to one.
it’s at youtube… at the URL : /watch?v=J3F4_E68ndM
------ side note:
P.S. please improve the barrier visual so 1 hp barrier and 100% hp barrier (with 100% fortify) are visually distinguishable… currently they are not… It’s impossible to tell them apart. (which is probably why this bug is not more widely reported, because nobody sees it’s happening)
One possible fix would be to give the “edge” of the actually barrier amount a “bright/white” highlight… so at 1% barrier the highlight of the barrier edge would be at the bottom, and at 100% barrier it would be at the top. Then, for >100% barrier, you could make the edge highlight somehow different when it wraps around the second time. (though I don’t think the wraparound idea works well if >100% barrier is a common thing)
I personally don’t like the design of pre-tinting the whole globe blue when you have 1hp barrier… If it was me, I’d consider just changing the thin-red-ring to be blue when there is barrer, and then let the barrier-blue fill from the bottom without a tint over the whole thing, so that 50% barrier was actually a 50% shaded globe, not a 100% shaded globe with a barely visible line.
