340 repplies and still none blue post from the devs, they really dont care about console/controller community, very sad =/
u could also us trigger they have a sensitivity too 0-1 if I’m not mistaken would be easier to half pull trigger for me, but remap issues would be a nightmare
yet another sign that their trolling console. They probably made it bad on purpose because were not playing on their personal preference.
imagine reading that if you deactivate crossplay you will get more stable latency… ill try it later…
I think your solution (using the right stick to aim) is creative and well presented, but I can’t help but notice that if your right thumb is busy targeting the skill, you can’t also press a thumb button to activate the skill. Therefore, the solution seems DOA.
Just bind that skill to something else (triggers, bumper, stick click, moment’s delay after engaging the stick, …)
There are a couple of well known solutions for this problem. But at first, if they simply increase the fixed range for movement skills, i would gladly and patiently wait for a definite solution. The range is so poor that if you triple it, it would be ok.
About the right analog stick, i think it’s the standard way to solve this issue, and implementing a cursor style of control would solve another issue we have on Consoles, inventory management.
But the one solution i find very clever is the one used by Wolcen (i believe that’s the game). There they use the left analog stick to control the range (or intensity) of the spell, the same one you use for move your character. The left analog stick is sensitive to intensity, even now in D4. If you push it lightly, your character will walk. If you push it all the way towards the direction you want to run, you will run. It’s not hard to use this in the same way in battle. If the control is pushed to its limit, let the spell go its max range. If its middle, let it go its middle range and etc. This way, you let the right analog stick be used to target management (it seems this is the way blizz intend to use it).
Whatever the solution they find, i just want to teleport like the PC players do, and not got stuck behind a f… stone.
this is nothing new. teleport has always been garbage on console. same with meteor or any skill that requires a mouse click on a specific spot.
I’d prefer to use the left analog stick, because of my play style; I’m using a Hydra/Firewall build so I’m constantly on the move, kiting monsters into a large circle. I’d rather not have to take my right thumb of the controllers face buttons. A win/win for everyone would allow the tap/hold function to work with either thumbstick, along with how long the button had to be pressed, before the reticle appears on screen.
Clearly you never played Diablo 3, because Leap works exactly the same on D4. It looks for the nearest mob in the direction you are facing and leaps to it.
But clearly you are just here to argue, judging by the fact that you STILL refused to realise (intentionally or through lack of understanding, who knows?) the point being made and continue to try and argue the moot point that was never in contention.
With that, good day. I guess we are done here.
They tweeted a few weeks ago that they’re fixing this for controller.
Unfortunately we need someone with a slightly influential Twitter account to get attention on this, no matter how much I ask them I never get a response, but maybe it works if they have a lot of people asking them on Twitter for a fix on the distance of this skills using a controller.
Come on guys, do your part!

I think it should do the following
For teleport (and similar skills that don’t auto-aim like hydra or ice armor)…
Right joystick up/down adjusts an aim radius circle (which is shown visually). When you teleport, it uses the radius (whatever it was set to last time you did up/down on right joystick) to determine how far (in your facing direction) to teleport. Ditto with hydra.
Or just make it teleport max distance always…
Here’s another weird quirk of teleport. The corners of your monitor are the furthest you can teleport. While the shortest distance is directly up or down from your character. The difference is exaggerated when you have a really wide monitor.
Also, it can (optionally) show a little circle (big dot) showing the current target (based on facing direction and selected radius). Note the radius is always set to something. Doing right controller up/down just adjusts the radius (bigger or smaller).
Or you could even do it based entirely on the current position of the left analog stick (from min to max distance)… But probably better to support both (player can decide which to use in options menu).
We have a new big patch and still nothing about the controller moving skills issue…
Another big patch and nothing…
They dont give a sh!t about console support. They got your money and thats the end of it. Best way to enact change is to boycot their console products for lack of support
I use controller on pc tho, still i hope this fix on controller…
This is just the difference between keyboard and mouse… directional movement and small dodges will be better on controller as well as spamming skills will be easier on the hands.
Keyboard/Mouse will always have advantage at tele skills or any skills that you need to target a specific enemy.
