My trampled earth build creates like 1/4th the number of landslide casts on controller. It does significantly less damage.
I can not collide enemies on the controller with Trample reliably. Is it really so hard to fix it?
no blizard answer to this issue? do we need to use 3rd party software for this or what tha hell… ?
Mount speed has the same issue, with mouse the turbo is significantly faster…
Commenting to keep the topic bumped so hopefully somebody sees this
Super weird (and annoying) that they’d release a console game without console controller support… They also don’t have binds for all the controls because they didn’t do the obvious thing of a modifier button (so, you can map, say, L1 plus any other button as a unique input).
Being new to Diablo, I guess it’s also normal for the devs to be unresponsive / not give any feedback on the forums?
As a newcomer to Diablo in general, I am loving the game. But the ‘generic’ controls are one of my criticisms, as I am using an Elite controller when an Xbox controller from 15 years ago would work just as good for this game.
This.
Honestly shocked at how low effort their controller support is when Im sure such a big part of the player base is on console.
Targeting/Aiming, zero control. Movement skills, borderline unusable. Keybinds, what are those? I really hope they fix it but Im not holding my breath…
replying myself: i cant mapp mouse movement to the gamepad with a 3rd party software because the game overides keyboard inputs when u are using the gamepad… seems like the ony way is for blizard to fix it…
We’ve been fighting to get more controller support since early access beta ![]()
Im trying to compile controller UI and input improvements they really need to change here:
this is still a big annoying problem
Reminds me of poe, console players are just forced to avoid using skills that dont work so good on controller, deal with it, or switch to pc
So, to summary this really long topic
- we’re waiting now for the devs to release “patch” for this issue, beacause they’re already gave as feedback that they know about it and looking into it - right ?
Personally i’m playing Druid on PS4 and trample travel distance with controller is terrible.
I’ve never played Diablo before and I just unlocked the Teleport skill, but I have no idea how to mark the Teleports destination location.
We can’t click on the screen like mouse users can, unless I’m missing something.
How do you do this on XBSX?
Thanks.
You activate the ability and pray it doesn’t snap to a super close target. ![]()
Exactly! They should make all of these dash like abilities similar to the Rogue Dash ability where it traverses through targets applying whatever triggered effects along the way and have a max range.
Yeah trampled earth is laughable on the controller. Kind of ridiculous to have the most popular druid build basically not even work with a controller. I like to use a controller on PC, personally if I’m using any movement skill I reach for the mouse and use it. Not exactly ideal but much better than using the controller full time. Should really just use mouse and keyboard but I’m stubborn.
Funny thing is that i’ve played a lot in D3 on PS4 and while it wasn’t perfect, atleast it worked like - all of “dash” skills = always travel at max distance. It’s was a middle ground of a kind because it allowed me to used it fine in travel mode but still handicaped me sometimes during combat. But i would accept that solution in D4 without hesitation :D.
The perfect solution would be that when you click once - max distance, when you hold - you can adjust the lenght by holding time (let’s say smething like 0,5s - 1/4 / 1s - 2/4 / 1,5s - 3/4 / 2s - 4/4).
For now i’m having a blast with D4 overall and Druid aswell but with my lighting “Thor” build for leveling (it’s awesome) i have one free skill slot - i really want to have trample in there for roaming the world but i just can’t when it’s pushed me 2 meters :D.
I think a good solution would be to use the right stick as a relative cursor (i.e. stick all the way up, max distance movement upwards, halfway down, half of max distance movement downwards, etc). I tried to set that up myself by mapping the stick to the mouse, but unfortunately Diablo disables KBM inputs when the controller is in use, and it still detects the stick movement so the effort was wasted.
You can’t. It’s functionality is completely broken and useless on controller. Blizzard needs to fix this by adding a right stick cursor. While they are at it, they might as well give the community what we ACTUALLY want - mouse and keyboard support on console. Controller should actually work as well as M&K too though. Both things have to be addressed.
Wait there’s no KBM support on consoles? Far out blizzard know how to drop the ball.
