I have millions in gold, and obcudite is hard to come by as infernal horde compasses barely drop anymore. Make obcudite an item sold at the blacksmith so people can use some of the tens of millions in gold they accumulated with nothing to spend it on (50 million gamble in kurast undercity aside)
NMD (chest, elites, bosses, event) and pale Marks (merc shop) are the other ways to get them.
NMD will only drop them when you’re on a level 60 character. No matter what difficulty you’re running.

Obducite isnt hard to come buy just need to do IH, ND or use your marks in den for mw mats.
They need to put in more resource sinks. Right now 95% of mats have no value because they have no sinks to match the acquisition of said mats.

He said compasses arent dropping anymore, which means he probably doesnt understand where to get them. If he cleared a helltide and opened at least 10 chests, i would be surprised if he didnt get at least 1

I reached paragon 183ish. I know where to get compasses. I ran many NMD and the pit, no compasses dropped. I cleared many helltides, many NMD, no compasses. If you want to masterwork something to level 12 getting the necessary obcudite from NMD means running dozens over and over. The grind is ridiculous.

1-2k per run. Can easily do 3-4 in time it takes to do a horde. No way it’s dozens for a single item. It’s like 5-6 runs.

Which tier are you running them on?
Fair few obducite dropping from a full clear NMD on t4. Around 1.5k. 4 of those and you’re at about 12/12.
If you have VoH you can also run Tribute of Refinement in Undercity.

Its just surprising when anyone here posts that they are on T4 and they cant find compasses. When i reached T4, i had about 40 compasses saved and struggle to just clear out all my 10 wave compasses. Are you doing whispers and taking the cache of dungeon keys? You doing the other sources of obducite (UC, pale marks)?
If you are on later, im down to run a HT with you and see if maybe the chests are just no longer dropping them. I know i have gotten a couple last few times i ran it

I’m paragon 277, and I ran out of my 10 wave Compasses three weeks ago. I haven’t seen one drop in two months. I have plenty of 6 wave and 8 wave ones, but I’ve had way more Mythical gear drops (currently sitting on 60 Resplendent Sparks) than I’ve had the 10 wave Compasses (35) this season.
I just don’t find running the shorter Hordes as good use of my time as running the 10 wave ones, so instead of incentivizing me to play more, I just run Hordes when they have an active Whisper.
I don’t think this is needed at all. I have all the classes 12\12 geared and going this season. It didn’t take me long to get them there either. I’m not saying this to flex. I just want the OP to know that I have done my far share of farming.
First off: NMD is THE BEST way to get obducite. You can argue with me on this as much as you like but I base this on my gameplay.
My rogue clears NMD in under 4mins (flurry)
My barb clears NMD in under 5mins (WW/cota)
My druid clears NMD in under 5 mins (full companion)
My sorc clears NMD in under 4 mins (meteor)
My SB clears NMD in under 4 mins (poison evade)
My necro clears NMD in under 4 mins (full companion)
Notice I am not playing a META (except barb) and still putting in that work. each NMD averages 1.5k obducite. I don’t need a group to get tons of it, I don’t need to farm helltides to have access to it, and these times are averaged. So some NMD you blast through so fast it laughable. Im 280 paragon but again 5 toons. So I was farming this fast even back at less than 200 paragon. The stronger I got, the faster i cleared.
I have 40,3k Obds I’d love to maybe roll into adding stars to my gear maybe.
A perfect example of a lazy gamer…

Thanks for the suggestions. Started a new character, Dance of Knives rogue, got to level 60 (with 200ish paragon points availble from my last seasonal character) and will follow your advice!
