Has been 10 minutes or so before and after installing the update. Restarted everything a few times, nothing works.

This did nothing for me. Not sure why it would have but was worth a shot.
Also tried restarting my pc. No difference.
Is it just me or is there no longer a cancel button on this screen? Going by articles on the web there used to be a cancel button. I don’t see one.

One time after waiting 12 minutes the game started to load, the big door-opening animation, and I was presented with the character select screen. After two more tries which were pretty fast in comparison the game finally began to load, which took a few minutes. Once in game if I tried to use any menu interactions like learning skills, it takes at least half a minute to load.
I followed the quest to do helltides, took a waypoint to the nearest helltide, walked out of town, barely dodged the meteors 
, saw my first enemies, and couldn’t even attack one single time before the game froze then crashed.
I’m hardcore btw. Somehow I went from level 1 to 3 LOL. But now I’m on the same start game pending nonsense. Unplugged all accessories and monitors. Uninstalled the game. Reinstalled the game. Nothing helps.
After over 2.5 hours, I got to “play” for like 2 minutes, half of which was just trying to load basic menus.
Why is every season exponentially worse?
Hey, I have same issue since today, after the patch. Tried scan and repair, didn’t work and now I am reinstalling the game. Since the new patch didn’t have any problem at all entering game

I had this same problem, stuck on the queue thing then the time I did get in it just froze over and over, turned out that they auto swapped your quality presets to a raytracing version, if you change that in the character select screen it might work, mine loaded right in again at least.

I have tried, is not working, can’t enter game. It remains in queue screen and that’s it

Just tried it, and restarted my PC - Still pending once you select a Character and then Start Game… it’s very frustrating, and I’ve sent a message to PezRadar on X yesterday… no replies yet.

This can’t be relevant for some cases. I reinstalled the game without high quality assets. I’m not even sure if my video card supports ray tracing but I turned off everything through GeForce Experience.
I can’t change anything at the character select screen. If I hit Escape, the game freezes.

Yup same here as well, if they forced Ray Tracing, our old graphic card (which were working fine since last year up to this patch), it can be why it freezes.
As well, if I click Esc or even Shop instead, it freezes.
I wonder if it’s a Launcher-related issue. Anyone on Steam that has the same troubles than us?
My brother is playing on Steam without issue.

Edit: it worked once, now I’m still stuck in queue 
Have installed the game on my bf pc and it worked. Tried again on my pc and it didn’t. But I still managed to open settings on char selection and disable cross play. Then it managed to enter game, still had to wait in queue. And ofc is laggy and freezy while I got to the game.

This has been a thing OFTEN and since the RELEASE of the game. PLEASE fix!
Same problem for me today. Stuck for queue, restarted and then got stuck on title screen for a while followed by unable to connect to battlenet. Internet is working just fine though.
