Logged on after patch and ported over to a legion event. crashed
Came back and did about half of it and crashed.
Came back and headed towards world boss and crashed.
Came back and resumed heading there and crashed.
Now I’m here. It’s unplayable.
This has been ongoing for a couple of months now, at least.
Instead of adding seasonal content and shop cosmetics, take a season off and fix the stability issues.
My game time is limited as it is, and right now I want to play this one. Or I did.
It is not playable for a significant percentage of your player base. Aren’t you concerned?
Or just concerned about how many people buy a fancy outfit?
I’m getting the same issues as well. Game was running fine since Season launch and now after this patch I get random crashes when fast travelling. I skipped out on S1 and S2 and came back to check out S3 hoping there would be a smoother/better experience and this is what I come back to? I was actually having a good time and now I’ve been reminded of why I skipped out on S2 and S3.
Answer is No. there too worried about duplicate stuffs and things that streamers and the no lifer are doing. Us regular players they could careless. If they did care we would have offline modes and content for our Eternal Realm Characters.
There’s an issue with DirectStorage components supplied in the game main dir. (dstorage.dll and dstoragecore.dll) rename them to .bak and game should start working normally again.
I replaced those files with versions from 1.22 SDK for DirectStorage and game works again too.
What Chastity mentioned above seems to be the solution. Worked well for me and many others.
On the OP: There was 1 single blue post on the other main thread with a lot of ‘‘folks’’ word used in it and thousands of views btw " Game hangs at loading after patch"
but he probably got laid off for admitting guilt by saying they know there is issue
How did you replace the files? I tried doing like you said and renamed the .dll to.bak but game doesnt work normally… any suggestions on what I am supposed to do?
For me, renaming dstorage.dll to dstorage.dll.bak works, as the game no longer uses DirectStorage. I then replaced the 2 files with 1.22 versions from the DirectStorage SDK and that worked.
You can go here to get the 2 files from native/bin/x64
