Stash and storage (Blizzard repeating the same mistake again)

I think Blizzard will keep repeating the same mistake with the stash.
From what I see in their last development post, they intend to make the storage limited.
How limited? We still don’t know, but duuuuuude… 2023. Still doing the same thing?
From Path of Exile to Last Epoch (passing even through Grim Dawn), everyone solved this.

Is hard to believe in any reason Blizzard can give to still work with limited stash.

In D2 it forced people to trade things more quickly instead of sitting on rare items that end up never getting used anyways. But since uniques are account bound; I don’t think that’s going to be a problem.

With Seasons on the horizon shortly after release … the need for more Stashes would be appreciated. Just because the Season ends, doesn’t mean I am going to suddenly part with my Seasonal loot.

there is a shared stash shared across your characters.

Yeah … but is there a limit to how many Stash Tabs you can purchase? That is the unsolved mystery …

Stash space is a priority, and they know it, but because it’s not a power creep sadly extra space can probably be purchased at the in-game shop as they know this is a no brainer for easy money :frowning:

I have never once logged into a seasonal character once their season is over.(but to be fair no gear was that amazing in the past as it all dropped like a piñata. That may change in D4 if getting anything specific and super rare was an accomplishment)

To whom? I sure don’t care about more space if there’s not going to be any point keeping multiple armor sets/swapping builds if they’re putting things in place to disincentivize this play-style. Plus with seasonal structure i don’t even know you’ll accrue that much wealth/gear in that time anyway

100% could be done on purpose as an mtx seller

I absolutely do not mind limited stash. From what we saw in betas it is big enough. Also if you make it infinite you will make bot owners happy. There you go.

Hard to believe it’s 2023 and people still haven’t gotten over their hoarder mentality.

You aren’t going to use all that crap. No you aren’t. You aren’t lying to us; you are lying to yourself.

You might not care but anyone that plays these games long enough certainly will care, even now in d3 stash space is still asked for. I know it’s no comparison but years down the track it will be a thing.

Some people just like to stash things for just in case scenarios. For you or even me, may not be a problem. But I can’t speak for everyone, just seems obvious considering all other games I have played.

Totally agree on the mtx seller, ah well be interesting to see just what quality of life features do pop up in the shop. Most things seem to be in game or satisfactory, but I am sure they have ideas, pets?

Making mule characters is not fun. So I beg blizzard to just give us more stash space. Wishing D2R would give us more stash space too. Muling is annoying.

I want gems to go in their own slots outside of the inventory like materials do.

Does anyone know exactly how many stash tabs will be available total?

I believe I saw a Tweet from one of the devs that they will be adding a jewel tab to your inventory at some point, not sure when though.

I know how many I had in closed end game beta as I capped it. I can’t say for certain that number holds true now. I’ll just say it’s not high nor enough tabs.

It was mentioned as one of the changes if I’m not mistaken. So we should see it during the Slam beta!?

Honestly I liked the way Grim Dawn did their stash space. You had 1 tab to start and like around 6 tabs total. Those were bound to your character. Then there was a button that switched it to the Shared stash with the same amount of tabs. You bought extra tabs with currency and it was pretty straight forward and intuitive.

D4 stash system isn’t bad but it seems to only be shared stash. Idk I would like at least 1-2 tabs that were just for 1 character alone in addition to what we have. It isn’t that big of a deal to me though and definitely isn’t a deal breaker. Still going to play and enjoy the game.

I agree. I mean with all of my tabs full in closed end game beta I had to filter through some of the gear. Now, IMO, if bliz does what I think they may do is sell on MTX specialized tabs like in PoE where this tab is for gems, and this one is for legendary aspects and this one is for sigils etc. Then I would most likely purchase those because you can’t carry more than 20 aspects that you extracted from gear and expect to have enough space for the rest in your stash.

To be fair though, most of the legendaries and legendary aspects I shoved into my D4 beta stash were taking up space and not being used. I put them in there in hopes of maybe using them later but never did. That was an issue with the way I manage my inventory and not so much that I didn’t have enough space.

However, Gems did take up the majority of my stash space in any iteration of beta. So that will be one less thing to worry about I suppose.
