They really need to make it clear when you buy the expansion that it is “only” for that platform. I still couldn’t point to anything in the store pages that states this, only discussions on forums after buying of course.

Sorry, but can you confirm for me: if I bought deluxe edition on my PS5 2 months ago, (I don’t have any other copies: not for PC and not for XBOX) that’s mean that I need also to buy standard edition?

For me it’s also something unbelievable because for the first 10 days after releasing the VoH the standard edition was blocked for me in the store ,yes after some updates it’s unlocked,but it’s very strange
Also I’m afraid to buy it,because one guy wrote here that he also bought standart edition after preordering deluding edition: he play as Spiritborn for 2 days and after that it was blocked again😅

Yeah dude, for sure. The messaging was completely shocking. I bought my version through the windows store on pc, preorder. Got a code. Redeemed it on releasegot the all good message. Tried to play and everything was blocked. Came here and after many hours reading… Console version. And no items or battle pass for my account.
Total rip off… I had to spend £90 to play this dlc.
It’s a total mess. I know it’s different for playstation as you have to buy from Sony. I have seen lots of people say they started playing and then couldn’t after a while. Not sure what the fix was for them. There’s been too much mixed messaging to be sure.
If you’ve never been able to play, I think the only option is to buy again and waste your money. Like me and many, many others.
We just have to suck it up and give them even more of our money and just not get what we paid for. I don’t want to tell you to do it because I don’t know if it will work. I do know that’s what worked for me and I know it worked for others too.
You can try. That’s all we can do. Pay over the odds and hope for the best.

Before buying I was spoke with the Play Station support ,they don’t see my transaction which I done for pre order ultimate edition of the VoH,the same as me. I can see it only in the blizzard store.
But after I pay for the standard edition I receive email about buying the standard edition as it must be. But for pre-order I didn’t receive nothing, I check all my mails (I have only one email for 15 years)
As the final: I have Diablo 4, I have Vessel of Hatred but I’m so exhausted that I even do not create the new charter and for these season I’ll not play for sure. I need few months for restore. I think I’ll not play these season…

Dude, I was exactly the same. I felt so defeated by it all and totally let down by blizzard. I’ve been playing diablo since the first release. I love this game. They’ve done so much for the players, they’ve been improving every season. They’ve put in the work and then now I just feel deflated.
I’ve been playing this last week though, finally. It’s worth it, but I know I’m not enjoying it as much because I feel cheated by them.
If I hadn’t paid so much money I would leave it too. I want my damn moneys worth!

Unfortunately, this is the point that they sucks because when they announced the VoH, they didn’t point out that we can play only at 1 platform. If you survey your purchase details and terms of use, you can’t see anything about this situation. As they mentioned that D4 is a cross platform game, so that we have to access all of its features on our PC, Xbox, PS5 or whatever we have. If it’s not working that way, they had to specify that VERY CLEARLY while we were purchasing VoH in 2 ways:
- The package that you are buying is ONLY available on 1 platform, this is not cross platform game, this is just a game that enable cross playing when you play open world/multiplayer.
- If you activate your VoH package on 1 platform, you can’t play it on another platform. So while we are opening the game, they should warn us with “IF YOU ACTIVATE YOUR GAME ON THIS PLATFORM, YOU CAN’T OPEN IT ON OTHER DEVICES. ARE YOU SURE?”.
They did nothing while we were facing that kind of trouble, they had no idea, no explanation. On the other hand, maybe they had an idea, which they want to make more money with that situation; “Oh guys, sorry, but if you buy standart version of the VoH for another platform too, you can uprage to your deluxe or ultimate version.” that we are already living in this reality.
Thousands of people living this situation because we respect them, support them because we love their contributions to gaming world. But at this point, it’s obvious that they don’t care about us, respect us.
If they didn’t warn us with any little, tiny, single word or sentence that I can play only with 1 platform while we were purchasing Diablo® IV: Vessel of Hatred - Ultimate Edition, they can’t force us to buy 1 more edition for each platform to play. This is not solution. This is robbery, greed and fraud.
I want from them my Diablo® IV: Vessel of Hatred - Ultimate Edition as they mentioned on each platform. I won’t buy any other version because of their mistakes. They have to refund people who are waiting like me to get a solution to enter the game or they have to solve this problem as they said this is a cross platform game and refund all people who bought +1 version of VoH to play it.
Idk if Blizzard got stuck into that kind of situation before but this is really disgraceful for them.

Well the stuff I bought CLEARLY says Series S/X version and that it’s the base D4 game and STANDARD voH expansion.
Still have the shop cosmetics locked and the shop acts like I don’t own just the standard DLC, but everything else is working.
Weird and annoying, especially with a spiritborn bundle I want and a pile of currency from the ultimate ed voh and battlepass.
We were all scammed by Blizzard.
There was no warning anywhere.
Blizzard doesn’t seem to have any intention of solving the problem
and only wants to double-spend our money.
If this isn’t resolved this year, there will be no more Blizzard games in my life.
I preordered the standard edition and then upgraded and I still don’t have all the features. I already spent over $100 on all this I’m not spending more because y’all can’t figure out how to fix the bug!
I am having the same issue, had purchased Disc edition of Diablo IV in Oct-23. On top, I have purchased later VOH Add-ons from PS Store. After many follow-up, nothing worked and can’t play the game with new character (it’s still Lock).
