Just before the season started did you not suspect the new Spiritborn class was going to be very strong? Did you not suspect it would have an advantage over the other builds because it was new and being introduced?
If so you “chose” to play a weaker class. Nobody made you do it; it was your decision. Did you not consider it might be fun to try the new class considering the advantages? Now you are mad at the consequences of your choice/decision.
You’re actually taking the position that one class doing 10,000% more damage than everyone else is not only justified, but predictable.
I’m sorry but this has to be most absurd take I’ve seen yet.
OBVIOUSLY we all expected the SB to be top of the pile this season. But I don’t think you understand just how big a disparity there is between this class and the next big thing.
The “consequence” of me picking a class and expecting some form of balance has indeed been my utter consternation at the state in which the expansion launched.
In your opinion then it’s not only fine, but working as intended that one class can 1 shot a T4 boss while the other 3 can barely damage it and die in the process?
They will prob never confirm nor deny it but its kinda obvious they made SB op or “accidently overshot” the numbers to make SB more appealing so more copies of expansion can be sold lol.
But yeah im experiencing similar situations, I’m like struggling in T4 activities as a rogue and partying up with SBs and watching them destroying everything with ease makes me feel like quitting the season. Maybe Season 7 will be better, idk.
def true! i was one of the first id say 100 people in t4. carried 1000s of bosses and getting people 2 tier 4. SB is a god with little gear. i wanna play other classes and blizzard def doesn’t care that one class is above all others. that’s the issue look how fast they are fixing evade. if they can do that. they can def fix the other classes and at least make them do closer damage and be tanky enough to do it but they want people to have fun on SB cause its the new class idk… please buff all the other classes cause they feel like poo right now blizzard…
From my perspective it is irrelevant how powerful SB is. Clearly Blizzard wanted people to try the new class and many people have done so understanding this season would be the season of the Spiritborn. “We” understand it will be brought back inline with the other classes next season.
Nobody is stopping you from joining the majority and trying the Spiritborn class for season 6. Nobody is stopping you from collecting ten or so caches from the tree of whispers, creating a new SB character, opening those caches to speed level and continuing the season with the new strong build. Nobody will stop you from returning to your favorite class in three months with the start of season 7.
Diablo is about making choices and living with the consequences of those choices.
Cool so why not have it so that from level 1 the SB can kill any monster in the game with 1 attack. That’s good game design right? No challenge whatsoever.
Oh well that’s no fun you say.
Okay so let’s put a few hours of gearing up between that initial state and the final outcome.
Like are you hearing yourself talk here?
Your literally advocating for having no balance in the game whatsoever. Each season let’s pick one class and have them so far head of the rest that it’s inconceivable to play the other classes at all. Right?
Like how does that lead to interesting build development or longevity with the game? Why would anyone want to play another class because it presents an alternative, interesting challenge?
What is abject stupidity (using your words) is knowingly choosing a weaker build, when a stronger build is available, and than complaining about how weak your choice is.
We’ve established you knew the SB was going to be very powerful, the top class in the season, yet you chose another class. YOU CHOSE ANOTHER CLASS KNOWING IT WOULD BE WEAKER.
So we’ve established you’re not actually interested in any form of balance and just want to keep reiterating that strongest is bestest.
I think we just found the guy Blizzard hired to consult on the class design.
Can’t see any problem next week when all the SBs are bored and demanding content that they just smashed in a few days. Or when they actually try the other classes and find them pathetically useless in comparison.
I’ll make sure to refer them to your post so they can all find a bed together and lie in it.
History has shown that whenever a dev “tries” to make something OP out of the gate, it ends up being faaaaaar more powerful than anyone could have ever predicted. We saw this back in MoP with that Warlock rework; the lead dev on it was a passionate Warlock fanboy that later admitted to making sure they would be the best DPS (they were so broken by the end of MoP that they were more then double other classes in DPS charts).
Also if anyone plays fighting games, then they probably know what happened when they added Yang and Yun to Street Fighter 4.
The issue isn’t imbalanced class design or that the Spiritborn is inherently overpowered.
There are multiple bugged aspects and paragon nodes resulting in 200 times more damage than intended. That’s not even considering the degenerate evade build.
Every season has a class that shines more then the others. This season/expansion is Spritborn, which probably was also done to push sales of the expansion. We all have to remember this Diablo 4 is labeled a live service game so they don’t care about it being fun. Just how to nickel and dime us to death. Like they do on Diablo Immortal. They would have pay to win in Diablo 4 if they could. The Community would not have it though being a paid for PC GAME. Yet F2P and Mobile games get away with it left and right.
All the other classes were nerfed after the PTR. People wouldn’t be as upset if every class could still clear 130 and SB could reach 150. But right now, the gap is just too big.
got frustrated with my sorc at 215 para and re-rolled SB…and wow the power difference is insane. i was speed farming t2 with just quill volley aspec right after hitting 60. and after getting some ancestrals, my 16 hour old sb is now in t4/doing higher pits than my decked out sorc. funniest part is, i haven’t even leveled my glyphs nor mw my gear lol. SB makes previous meta builds like hota/bl look like a total joke.
Playing SB this season. Running T4 with still no masterworking done on my gear. Quite frankly the class is so strong right now, there’s no real need to masterwork their gear.
Yea it’s the rapid progression that appears to now be showing up as a problem. I just read 3 threads with people complaining the season was fun for a week and now their bored with nothing to do and quitting.
Like no $**t, you took maybe a fifth of the time to complete the content compared to what was clearly intended with the Torment difficulty scaling lol.
It doesn t even fit aesthethically with the rest of the classes. Most class skills are relatively subtle while SB is extremely flashy and colorful right out of D3.
Class doesn’t even fit the vibe. It’s like an Aztec super hero that uses weaponized poledancing. No fan of Diablo had ever even thought that this exists in the world, or even that it’s what the series needs.
Banish it, remove it from the game. Put it in what ever pee-bad game Activision makes next. Give us a freaking paladin, or even bring back the witch doctor. People are different in the years of Diablo4. if you make Witch Doctor OP, it’ll be all they play.
