Spiritborn are playing a COMPLETELY different game than other classes

Wow.

Well if it hadn’t been made clear to me already, the last hour of boss farming just elucidated the gap between SB and other classes.

It’s more of an ocean than a gap.

My sorc is level 200, has maxed armor, maxed resists with incense, all her gear pieces, and 2 mythics. I’m playing the LS build which is apparently the strongest build for this class, and it’s complete minus some MW crits which are tedious due to raw material shortages.

I just did an hour of T4 boss farming with an sorc, a rogue, and a SB.

Boss drops and is dead before it can even start its animation, SB was running an orange quill build. For kicks I stopped attacking, slowly the other sorc, and rogue did to. Boss still died in less than 1 second.

Curious I looked at the SB gear, I actually had better MW crits than he did. His gear, while good, was not perfect by any means.

For the next hour me and 2 other people watched the SB kill a T4 boss instantly, our job was basically to provide mats at the appropriate time.

For kicks, I assume, the SB didn’t attack during one Duriel run. All 3 of us started attacking and Duriel killed 2 of us. We managed to bring his health bar down by around 15 percent. The SB, like a concerned parent, slew Duriel instantly and rezzed us.

This is insane. Like there have been disparities in builds in previous seasons, some classes are definitely far stronger, but the difference between SB and everyone else is several orders of magnitude.

I know people will say “stop complaining, just roll a SB like the rest of us”. Yea I guess I better, you can tell T4 was clearly designed to be challenging and due to a series of bugs and broken interactions, the SB is doing countless trillions and trivializing the hardest content instantly.

I know Blizzard wants to move units, but honestly this level of imbalance is just sad. It feels like playing as one of the red shirt star trek guys, you know your role is to die or at best not get in the way while the main character does his thing.

Sounds like S3 and S4 Hota Barb. One hit and everything is dead. It was predictable that Spiritborn will be imba when the DLC is released. It will change sooner or later.

Well Blizzard advertised a mercenary system. Knowing fully well that they meant that everyone else is the sidekick of the SB.

I also use the orange quill build. All other classes are just low tier mercs compared to SB.

Now try to realize that the disparity between SB and your sorc, is about the same disparity feel between a sorc or barb, and everything else. Now you know how it feels.

This is why balance is stupid important, and why people need to stop accepting this whole mentality of “there’s bound to be imbalances” or “ofc it’s imbalanced, it’s the new class”. It doesn’t have to be and quite frankly, cannot afford to be this way. It ruins the game for everyone.

Nah, I play a Rogue, and I call my buddy SB my mercenary.

In S5, this build is like the equivalent of LS Sorc compared to other Sorc builds.

If you were running with non Quill Volley like builds, you might not see the same performance but still stronger than your Sorc

lol a better description is not possible.

My best friend (Throw Barb) said he felt like my merc while we were playing. Our other friend (Necro) chimed in and said, “And I’m the little dog that runs around and picks up loot.”

Hah, actually that is pretty much about as good as I can put it.

We’re basically just accessories.

The orange build is nice (from mobalytics for example). It looks kinda like the Overpower Quill volley build from wudi. But you dont get the trillion number with his build. (oh i did not see the pit pushing version :see_no_evil:.)

I guess i know how i can optimize my build “a bit”. I just did a Pit 105. If i can do 110 i can fully level my glyphs.

A small difference in gear or error in paragon tree can make the build do 500 mill - 10 bill damage instead of trillions.

When i get new gear i will try out the orange build as well. The “normal” SB builds are come not even close to this.

It’s kinda nuts. I feel like I’m playing a Mirror-tier build in PoE, except it takes only a fraction of a fraction of the investment to get to that level of power.

Never heard of that term prior to this thread. Is that what people are calling the P150 build that stacks Resolve to the moon?

SB is as strong as Diablo 3 characters were when they got 6 peice set items. Ya I said it.

Exactly…

I play a Day 1 PenArcher build. I’m on T2 now, got a good bow, and tons of survivability…

But I hit like a wet noodle. Did Horde’s today, took me 20 minutes, max damage I put out was 100k…Got 96 orbs, not even enough to open the large crate…

Watched an SB, with so so gear go in, and literally wipe 10 phases, gained 600 of horde orbs in less than 5 minutes…Hit largest hit I could read was 3 BILLION…

Come on BLIZZ, this kills the game…

Have to play METAHOBUILDERS only or you can’t complete content, or when you do, you pay the price in time and less rewards…

That’s what I found so irritating.

I don’t have all my gear fully critted or MW, but the SB in question barely had any MWing done on his.

They could literally double the damage output of my character tomorrow, and I still wouldn’t even approach what the SB is capable of doing.

Like 3 of us all attacking barely dented the bosses HP. I’m guessing the SB must be putting out something like a 1000% more to be able to drop the boss instantly like that. How does that get though to release exactly?

Edit: I just came across the Perra gaming video on season 6 class balance. Apparently SB is close to 50 pits higher than other classes and bugged to be about 200x stronger than intended. Well there’s the answer.

Multiplicative bucket bonuses. If you want balance, the first change must be a complete and total removal of anything multiplicative. Balancing multiplicative buckets can’t really be done well, proven time and time again.

Just finished watching the Perra video and apparently yea stacking every broken aspect and item it is a 1000x multiplier. Lol wow.

So basically maybe a few billion for the other classes vs 10 trillion for SB, it makes sense now.

This is worse than HOTA barb… These SB’s can ultra speed farm at this damage level. At least HOTA required some level of prep in rotation that could be screwed up and your damage was poop.

SB? Just faceroll and win.

I completed a Pit Lvl 110 with the SB overpower variant. 1 min left after the boss.
My glyph was lvl 91 but only 90% chance to upgrade.

I need more damage. The whole screen was full of crits and damage. Numbers i cant even spell. But still not enough damage.

Wheres the googolplex damage build? :face_with_spiral_eyes:
