Since launch I have played every season. And now is what, the third massive overhaul to the entire game? It got to a point that this game has absolutely no identity at all.
I really don’t even bother to follow it anymore, sorry to say that. Loot reborn was fun and had new content, obviously. With exception to the expasion (if you are one of those people buying it of course), there’s pretty much nothing new of relevant gameplay to the game with 2.0. This is pretty much a change in numbers and equations (potentially some minor UI changes) behind the same product we all know.
So why bother?
I understand that this possibly is another FOMO strategy to get more impulsive players to buy the expansion, but in the longterm really it just shows much of a o mess the vision is within Blizzard.
I think all the changes in Season 1 were a major red flag—that’s when most of my friends quit. It was the biggest patch I’ve seen released in less than two months in all the games I have played. But I’m still here; once I commit, I want to see it through to the bitter end.
With they glyph max lvl being raised to 100, I hope they’re making them usable across all characters in the same realm like they are w/ the paragon. Otherwise, oh hell no!!! (still sitting on fence re: buying the expac)
Yea, some people are saying, “oh, you’ll only have to lvl to 46 or so” - that’s still freaking 25 higher than now. And all the apologists who said “oh yea, solo players can still have fun” before retail release only to now laugh at and mock solo’s and eternal’s only shows you not to believe the apologists.
Seems like this game forces you to do what you don’t want to and calls it “play your way”, like the burger motto saying “have it your way” as long as it’s off a set menu and they get your order right.
You’re right. I assumed that eventually these sort of core changes had to end or slow down. But no, Blizzard clearly has no idea what should be kept both in terms of gameplay / mechanics and in terms of math & equations / difficulty scalling / time in diverse activites. Once you “accept” being their lab rab while paying to test different things, they just do not absorb meaningul feedback and restart the show again and again with no clear direction where the game is going.
It is. If players missed this red flag and still went on with the game, then it’s on them.
I already realized this back in patch 1.1.0. I wanna quit but I gave the game a chance and at that point, I accepted the fact eternal is goner for me. If I still continue with the game, the blame is on me if I expect 1.1.0 will not happen again.
They need to rethink progression and add some new and more importantly interesting areas that only become available once you reach a certain level. This won’t add any replayability but at least you would feel like you were actually working towards something other than just endlessly doing the same thing on a higher difficulty level. Btw I find the gear underwhelming so getting any of it is meh.
The main story that builds the Diablo series is really great, the structure and storyline are very attractive and engaging. I really love the Diablo story.
But I don’t understand why they don’t continue to write this attractive story to put more challenging content for the players. On the contrary, they just put in scattered, irrelevant content that has nothing to do with the story season after season and mess everything up…
