This is a question to the other players will the sorc be viable in season 5? i love the sorc but have feeling the lack of love to the class and the feel of nerfs…i could not do the PTR for season 5 so for those who did and just those who are feeling the sorc still…should i just go to druid for my first tune? honest opinion

We will just have to hurry up and wait. PTR is not a good indicator of what will be in the live release.

Of course, you would have to wait for the game itself to show that, but i am 99% sure that there will be at least 5 viable builds for sorc in S5. The thing is: what do you see as “viable”? Of course there will be a meta build, with which people will run the highest pits and stuff (for the sorc class). But if you are just talking about - doing all content in the game + doing ubers + going for pit above 70 - there will be a couple.

I tested PTR Sorcerer’s Axial Conduit build and also watched many clips of this build from other players. What I can tell is “This is a season of Crown of Lucion + Locran’s talisman”. An error of this two pieces launches damage to billions if it’s not fixed.
Any builds with these two is OP, anything else is No.

sorc not viable in season 5, don’t play it.
in fact sorc would be more pathetic in season 5 than in season 4 right now.
as when you hitting high enough to unlocked the paragon board, the good old burning instinct legendary node has been nerfed from potential 130%[ x ] to 40%[ x ]. you can’t even nicely have your incinerate to push higher Pits for masterworking mats.
don’t waste your gaming time on sorc at all.

Sadly after playing the PTR Sorc is dead unless something drastic happens.
Yes the Firebolt/Flame Shield Invincibility build needed to be nerfed, but survivability has dropped through the floor.
They will fix the Axial/Crown of Lucion bug, making that build also not viable. No doubt someone will find some other broken build, that people will run for a while, until the Devs “fix” that too. but yes Sorc is in a sorry state. Ive already stopped playing S4 a few weeks ago. Bored is an understatement.
Just roll a Barb or Rogue, at least youll breeze through the content…not that there is much change between S4 & S5.

Seriously, folks need to stop whining. YOU DONT KNOW WHAT S5 WILL GIVE THE SORC. It was obviously just a test for the new endgame content and a few uniques.
Sorc is not dead, and wont be dead in S5.
Go enjoy summertime. If you cant do that - you got more important problems to solve.
yup, even the Glacial Aspect (15% damage turns to 15% chill) becoming a clown joke. totally killing off slightest chance for sorc to start with a “low budget peasant build” to play this game.

I genuinely hope you are right and something drastic does change in the next 4 weeks or so.
You will have to forgive the melancholy mood my friend. Blizzard doesnt have a great track record in class balance and the recent patch notes for release 10th July, also dont garner any faith that they intend to address anything with the class prior to S5.
But as i say, i genuinely hope your right.
Oh and im in the UK - Summertime isnt a thing here haha.

Casting “Smash with face” does not require mana.

The PTR was very bad for Sorc, as in every skill needed a 500% buff. They were able to find a few bugs that made them “work”.
Hopefully this will be updated with S5 because the glass canon felt more like a glass squirt gun.

There will be Uniques rework and hopefully some buffs to Sorc along with it, but my hopes arent too high rly looking like the worst class atm

love my sorc, but honestly all ive seen are massive nerfs to this class.
even teleport … lol, my barb’s leap is better, on a shorter cooldown, going over walls and doors. shadowstep from rog…
sorc is in sad state.
i guess it depends on what you enjoy. is it going to be playable in helltides? i’m sure.
