Sorc is overpowered every season when are they getting NERFS?

Hydra Sorc (Mekuna) did pit 120 on PTR doing QUADRILLIONS of damage LEGITIMATELY. This is not a bugged interaction like the infinite bleed Barb stuff. This is actually intended. Sorc just does THIS MUCH DAMAGE. It’s insane. And we already had season 4/5 of Sorc being OP with Lightning Spear. And then it happened in Season 2 with Ball Lightning. And now season 8 currently Lightning Spear Sorc is INSANE compared to EVERY OTHER CLASS IN THE GAME.

Why does Blizzard have this preference for Sorcerers? It’s STUPID and I just wanna say THERE ARE FIVE OTHER CLASSES BLIZZARD, MAYBE YOU CAN BALANCE YOUR GAME BETTER AROUND ALL SIX CLASSES INSTEAD OF JUST ONE? YOU ALL SCK AT YOUR JOBS.

Id say necro had S tier build (or 2-3) each season since pre-season.

Sorc had S tier in like 4 seasons max.

Legitimately? It’s a shatter bug with gizmo. Same as the old Greater fireball bugs they removed from the game. Not making it live. relax

Hydra has insane multipliers. It can reach 201 mana which gives a multiplier of 1000x. It will probably be nerfed.

Are you SURE it’s not making it live? Lurkin, they are re-using old code. Old bugs from MULTIPLE SEASONS AGO are now present on S9 PTR again. Also, they allowed the bugs with Greater Fireball in the first place… that kinda gives credence to the idea that they will probably allow this Shatter bug into Season 9 and THEN REFUSE TO FIX IT ALL SEASON LONG.

I am throwing a fit and panicking because I DO NOT trust Blizzard to get it right. On top of that, even when players point out how broken something is, they will say on a campfire “relax, we’ll nerf anything OP early in the season” and yet here we are 1.5 months into season 8 and Lightning Spear Sorc is +10 pit tiers above EVERY OTHER BUILD AND CLASS IN THE GAME.

The time to panic and yell and post in all caps lock is now. Blizzard must be pressed to get this right and not let ANOTHER ENTIRE SEASON be dominated by Sorcs abusing bugs that Blizz “promises” to fix but NEVER ACTUALLY DOES. If they kept their word, LS Sorc would be nerfed in season 8 by now. But it’s not. All they do is tell lies to make us temporarily happy, meanwhile taking no actual action to fix things like overpowered Sorcs.

Barb main here, while it does not feel great seeing my class have almost nothing exciting or legitimately strong to look forward to in S9, I must still admit that while sorc has had the top end build in the most recent seasons, it went a very very long time being in the absolute gutter…so if it goes on for 1 or 2 more seasons, power to em, enjoy it while it lasts.

That’s my point. It has nutso multipliers. How is this healthy for the game? Every other build has a pittance for multipliers. Pick a Barb core skill. What multipliers exist for that? Double Swing has crappy gloves. WW has crappy gloves. Rend has NO UNIQUES AT ALL. Nobody has played Upheaval in a billion years, and the unique for it, Hellhammer, is HILARIOUSLY bad. A fire DoT that does .000000000000000001% of the damage my actual Upheaval does? LOL.

Let’s see what else core skill Barbs have. Hmm. 45% limitless rage which is 90% on a 2h wep? Hydra Sorc laughs at Barbs because not only are their multipliers WAY larger, they have WAY MORE OF THEM, and when you multiply things together the result is exponential, meaning Sorcs get rich while Barbs stay poor. And it’s not just a Barb thing. I play all the classes except Rogue and Spiritborn. Sorc outclasses ALL of them to a degree that is hilarious and sad simultaneously.

Hydra Sorc has like 30 more multipliers than every other build, and just does SO MUCH DAMAGE. I CANNOT BELIEVE MY EYES to be quite frank with you. I am dumbfounded at the level of overpoweredness that Sorc CONTINUES TO ENJOY SEASON AFTER SEASON.

It’s insane. WHY DO THESE DEVS DO THIS. Why do they give one class’s skill 10000000x dmg, while another class with a diff skill/ability is stuck at +100% dmg instead? Why do they allow one build to be THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of times stronger than another? What world are we living in? It feels like this place is run by actual crazy people.

Sorcs are blizzard’s red headed stepchild. I’ve played them since the beginning. Worst class for many seasons. Mekuna knows how to find and exploit bugs and is an excellent player. He always pushes builds to their absolute max. He was using shatter. Besides all that, just how does this affect YOUR gameplay?? Rob did a 150 clear on a flay barb. So what. These guys are the best of the best in their classes.

b/c it’s an open world game, and when Sorcs are ridic OP everyone plays them, and then that’s all that shows up in Helltide, Incursions, and other OPEN-WORLD events in this OPEN-WORLD game where you see other players in the… OPEN WORLD. The result? Every mob in the nearby area is dead before I can touch it. On my Druid? Can’t get to the mob in time, LS Sorc already deleted it. On my Barb? Can’t do anything, even with my BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of damage Earthquakes… cuz they take one or two hits to activate the TEC rune and by then the DT Rogue has already auto-grouped up all the enemies and laid waste to them with its Death Trap.

Point is that it’s MISERABLE playing this game in the open world when I want to be the one doing the killing, hitting, attacking, etc. But I CANNOT. Not when a Sorc or Rogue is nearby with those stupid builds that SHOULD NOT exist. I have to play late at night when nobody’s around, or actively LEAVE open world areas to GET AWAY FROM the ANNOYING Sorc/Rogue players.

Blizz doesn’t spend a single second asking, “how does this build, such as DT Rogue or LS Sorc, impact OTHER PLAYERS who end up playing NEARBY players using this build?”

It’s like in Overwatch. Sombra is a hero with invisibility. She has a > 90% ban rate in competitive right now in Overwatch because SHE IS ANNOYING. Nobody wants to play against her! She just is miserable to fight. So everyone just bans her. Straight up. Sombra mains are crying in their subreddit how they can’t play the game cuz they’re always banned. This is what happens when you only ask, “is this fun to play?” and don’t also ask “and how is this to play WITH or AGAINST?”

When the devs of OW created her, the only question they asked is, “Is this hero fun to play?” What they FAILED TO CONSIDER that STILL HAUNTS THEM TODAY is “How is this hero feeling to play AGAINST?” A similar spin on that same question would be, “How does it feel to Barb players, or Druid players, when a LS Sorc comes rolling in from the edge of the screen and vaporizes all monsters in the area without even pressing more than 1 button?” People HATE playing against Sombra, even if the people who play AS her say she is fun to play. Get what I’m saying? I know LS Sorc is fun for those ppl playing it. But it’s SO HORRID AND MISERABLE for everyone around you. Your existence means there’s no game for me to play. What fun is a video game about killing monsters when someone else next to you killed all of them? It’s just super toxic and annoying to put up with tbh.

They failed to consider how it feels to play alongside these ANNOYING builds in a FORCED OPEN-WORLD game. This is how it affects me.

oof, yea um the vast majority of “OP” sorc builds are due to exploitative snap shotting or bugged interactions. without these we are bottom of the barrel.

BTW snap shotting should be a common interest to all players to NOT be used and called out as cheating.

Hot take Meta shouldn’t be a thing either but humans will be humans.

They’ve got another rant up whining about Arreat’s Bearing for Barbs. A one-trick pony yelling “NERF! NERF! NEEEEERF!” and about the wrong things. Fix the stupid bugs like snapshotting or the broken Shatter interaction. That’s what needs to happen. Pointing out bugs is fine and necessary but screaming “NERF!” at the top of your lungs detracts from the actual problems.

we have had only two seasons where Sorcs was OP only season two with ball lighting and season 5 or 6 splintering aspect every class should have atleast one S tier build why needs only one class be a top for multiple months make no sense like with necro or Barb as example

They have clarified in the last 2 dev streams that snapshotting is intended and is not a bug unto itself. Even though individual instances have been plagued by bugs, we should not cast a wide net label on people playing the game as it was intended.

So is the real world being run by crazy people on each continent, especially that orange menace manipulating markets with tariffs destroy personal finances of billions of people world wide so he and his family can line their pockets with cash until someone finally grows a pair an puts a stop to it, then he’ll pardon them all and self included of any wrong doing.
