This would not include regular pug activities like legion events or world bosses, etc. But it would eliminate group boosting, so you have to actually level yourself. It would eliminate trade as well. I am a huge advocate of trade, but I also understand a lot of people hate how it opens the door to RMT. So they would be protected from that.
And of course, if they hate trade for the advantages of RMT, then clearly they must also hate group play for the boosting advantages. Thus there is no valid complaint to suggest the mode shouldn’t be a SOLO self found mode.
Although I agree that having this type of game mode would be awesome, this can be accomplished already with some self-discipline. This is how I play already as is.
What is stopping you from playing self found? I don’t understand how someone else getting leveled super fast has any impact on you. If solo self found is what you want then why do you care what other players are doing?
Well, to a lot of players, an even playing field in a shared online experience is important. I mean, you could play HC on SC, in the same sense. But because of the shared online experience, many prefer the actual mode.
This is like saying one should play HC on SC and just delete their characters. To many people, an even playing field is very important in a shared online experience. If it’s not to you, then that’s fine. But you aren’t like a lot of people.
I agree, that’s why I said I agree that having this type of game mode would be awesome. However, since it’s already mildly accomplishable (is that a word? It is now), Blizzard would probably at most put this on the back-burner for now. At least until the more important stuff is tackled.
If I’m 100% self-found and play mostly solo(except when helping people) is that SSF?
Or am I a cheater and SSF failure because I’ve given gear to friends and helped them with eg. Capstones?
Personally I would like a SSF mode where you’re just in your own layer. Just make it like D3, except you cannot invite people at all.
Want to kill a world boss? Has to be done solo. Want to do legion events? Has to be done solo. Etc.
I’m already playing SSF, but it’s literally impossible to do half the content in the game like this. I go to a legion event? 10 players. I go to a world boss? 11 players. I go to a helltide? Players all over the place

Well if and I mean if they added a mode they could create a ladder/leaderboard around it. Gives people bragging rights. Last Epoch has masochist and hardcore and solo self find. Solo self find disables shared stash. I think masochist is disabled atm but it’s been months sense I checked. But you could do solo self find masochist hardcore and be seen on leaderboard. Just bragging rights but some people really love the competitive aspect of it and will do it just for that reason.
