But those events are meant to be with multiple people. They still can’t give you exp or gear.
I have leveled 4 characters solo so far. I have played grouped maybe 3 times total and not even for the whole session just adhoc someone invited me so I said “ok” until I left them. I get random invites fairly frequently. But I wanted to finish the game on my own mostly. I do all the bosses solo for sure.
i dont care about this mode, but what I will say is that boosting has ruined alts for me. after easily buying a boost on my first alt from 1-50 in like an hour, I just cant bring myself to enjoy playing normally knowing how slow it is. same thing with NM dungeons boosting. I can just afk and buy T60 boosts all day on that alt, or I can farm T20’s at a snails pace.
I think its faster for me to sell boosts on my main and use that money to buy boosts on my alt, then it is to just play my alt normally.
The problem with SSF not having its own mode is balance.
Yes I can play without ever interacting with someone. But every system in the game is balanced without that philosophy.
This is why it doesn’t work that well in PoE. Even though a lot of people hate trading in that game its completely designed with trade in mind.
It seems like Last Epoch is going to balance SSF mode separately which will be very interesting to see.
ok I guess I can see that.
I try to keep it legit. I prefer the idea of SSF.
It also feel awkward to take up anyone else’s time. I’ll spend 2 hours helping someone and never ask another for 5 minutes of their time.
I’m a fan of rushing D2, but I don’t think it translates well to this game. I’d like to see Blizz getting rid of the boosting mechanics. My perfect server would have full trade, but no group play outside of legions and bosses. But I know that won’t happen.
Or just keep exp tied to the individual performance.
IM so confused …
legit … legit for what…
You can’t trade anything of value now.
Are the people here thinking they will be competitive gamers if only … if only people were as anti social as me and didnt group … STOP grouping because … well… whats the reason … tell me … There will NEVER be a SSF ladder in this game in its current state.
It would highlight too many issues with the game.
Right now Boosts are a feature retaining players.
And its social … ohh no … people talking… what next … they might … OMG … Play together…
huh?
20 charsaaaaaaaaaaa
That just doesn’t sound like solo, to me. Solo, in my opinion, means doing things on your own. That’s literally the definition of the word solo
If I go to a world boss, and 12 of us kill the boss, I wouldn’t then turn to a friend and say “Omg I just soloed ashava!” - because I didn’t. I wouldn’t make a youtube video with a clickbait title like “World first solo ashava!” - because it isn’t
You can maybe make the argument that it’s not grouped, which is true, you never officially joined their group. But you most certainly didn’t solo it either
But I suppose Blizz has a different definition of hardcore now too than what I do, so maybe I am in the wrong. Hardcore to me is just the base game… but if you die your character is gone. Apparently that’s not the definition anymore
What we need is a more streamlined way to Level ALTS!
If I get to 80-100 on my Main and don’t want to respec but wish to play the same Class - leveling should NOT be a “grind”.
It’s made ultra cumbersome because if you didn’t save various Tiers of gear along the way - every Aspect and Item will forever be far too high a level for said Alt.
As far as new players and rushing: I think its best to not rush ‘new’ players. They need to go through all the steps we all had to.
As far as friends - some have irl issues and I’m happy to rush them up to a level so we can actually play together.
Then there’s the ones rushing only enables… they intentionally wait out Seasons for 3-4 days so they can come in and ask for help getting level and item boosted. I’ve seen it so many times in D2 and D3.
Hmm?
My personal gaming philosophy.
That’s all. Untie your bunched up knickers.
There is no real trade in the game, you would have to go out of your way to ever encounter a trade in this game. If you want to do SSF, then just don’t group with anyone and you are good to go. SSF is the default mode already.
Just because you have to “find a trade” doesn’t mean trading doesn’t exist. By that logic, even Diablo 2 didn’t have trading
Just don’t trade or boost and you won’t be affected by it.
The entire game is already pretty much SSF. There is no global, trade chat is off by default and limited to the 16 other players on your shard. There is no finder. Literally what you are asking for is already in the game… How do you have almost 3k posts and you post this? Is this a meme?
No one if affected by anything anyone else does in this game currently.
When leaderboards come out though there is a huge difference in playing solo and group farming experience.
Of course this doesn’t really matter right now.
I’d like this, with leaderboards, and its own separate leaderboard.
Playing in a group gives way, way more exp than what a solo player can get. It’s demoralizing for a solo player to compete vs these groups, such as in the race to 100 HC.
Though I also think grouping should be nerfed. The exp range shouldn’t be infinite and mobs should scale in difficulty harder than they currently are.
Except… when you go to half the events in the game… and there are other players directly helping you deal damage, CC enemies, gain EXP and items. It’s literally impossible to be fully solo right now unless you only participate in a small portion of the games content - aka, only do dungeons and nothing else
Well it’s a mode name. Having a dissertation for a title to cover all the caveats is needless. For D4, solo self found should just mean no group making. Events you go to in the world can be done with other players around.
