I found this thread from last year and I changed it to 999999999 but it doesn’t work. I have a 1Gbps connection and I’m getting this slow a$$ speed. What the hell blizzard?
edit: Just as I pressed submit the speed went up to what I’m supposed to be getting. Actually a little bit beyond it (up to 123MB/sec).
Its a placebo effect.
The 9s have really no bearing on it. You could put in 999999 or 99999 or 9999999 and its the same.
But for some reason, it occasionally helps.
But what I found out, if it slows down, I pause it, wait a few seconds, resume it and its faster for a bit, before slowing down again. With or without 9s.
This has been an issue since launch. No one knows for sure why, but this game has some of the weirdest quirks with regards to how it uses the internet.
I have since adopted the get-updates-and-walk-away-from-it-till-later method. That way, I’m not incensed when I see it doing nothing.
