Why are patch downloads so slow Blizzard? This happens with every large update that is deployed. Smaller updates are not affected. We’re talking download speeds as low as 10KB/sec on a 1GB fiber internet connection which is beyond ridiculous. It should take mere minutes to apply an update on a 1GB fiber connection & yet with the ridiculously slow update speeds through the Battle.net client, it takes far longer than it should. Seriously, fix your update servers Blizzard.

Doesn’t work for everyone. It didn’t for me. Still stuck downloading at roughly 10-15kbps with an 80Mb connection. I also appear to be downloading the patch from South Korea, when I live in Australia and Blizzard have servers in Sydney. The entire D4 launch has been a clusterfrick. It literally took me 16 hours to download the patch prior to this one, and this one looks like it’s going to take roughly the same time. And you can’t just continue the download from where it stopped, it just starts downloading the full patch from scratch, so I literally can’t do anything else on my PC for fear of interrupting hours of patch progress for a less than 200MB patch.

Same happening here.
I’m on a 100/20Mbps connection and other Blizzard games get down speeds of 12MBps easily.
But with D4 I watch it start out at a reasonable speed and then drop down to 125Kbps.
Something is seriously wrong with the setup of the download servers.
Oh yeah, this is at 4am so the servers shouldn’t be overwhelmed at all.
I managed to somewhat fix my patching issues by uninstalling the battlenet launcher and reinstalling.
