Shred: Something with new patch

I promise not the content creator: title is clockbaity but Shred did get some sort of buff

This is interesting, Shred appears to have had an intended or unintended buff in the patch according to this guy. I watched the old video on “Hurricane Shred” and as he mentions Shred wasn’t doing this type of damage.

Thought some Druids might be interested =)

I would probably steer clear of this if the double dipping damage is a thing. That’s a nerf waiting to happen.

Yeah this would definitely be dangerous to put a lot of focus into. I just spent a bunch of aspects and gold on respec’ing to Stormclaw Druid so this wouldn’t be in my near future anyways.

VERY interesting though and I was planning to eventually start building towards the “Hurricane Shred” just for the speed aspect but that’ll be quite a ways down the line as I don’t want gear overlap anymore on builds - outside of uniques.

Also, are goofy exaggerated expressions a requirement for streamers? I’m going to become a streamer and do nothing but stream myself making those faces the entire time.

Streamer faces have nothing on guitar player stank faces!

So did I. That said I didn’t see any of the damage this person was talking about in their video. 1-2mil crits with shred is no where near what other classes are doing anyway.

I agree. Prior to the buff, I was just a shred werewolf without and bells and whistles. I changed to flicker werewolf (same as streamer’s video) before the patch as well and the damage formula interaction was completely insane compared to my old build

I’ve went through major gear changes post-buff and I’m missing stormclaw, so I can’t tell either if the aspect is double dipping. I personally just think that it’s just multipliers of grizzly crit damage (which can stack to infinity) and extreme luck of vulnerability and lupine passive working off of greater base damage post-buff

Why should i be impressed by 1 or 2 million shred crits. Tornado can hit that multiple times a second when ramped. Even before being ramped, it can crit 500000 multiple times a second.

It requires no setup, no thought, no work, and no risk. It hits across the entire screen.

Until shred is spamming 20 mil crits i dont care. It cant compare to tornado hitting the entire map many times without me derping in melee range getting my face melted.

Because sometimes efficiency isn’t everything if you dislike X build

Sheesh

I dont dislike it. I wanted to play shred. Its much more fun than borenado.

It just is so much weaker and requires so much more effort that i cant take it seriously. If it were close to as effective… maybe, but it should be better for all the effort. And not only is it less efficient by giant magnitudes, its a lot harder to play with a lot more risk and problems/weaknesses.

Agree with you there on Shred.

Blurred Beast should have the dash requirement removed imo as it is more tedious than fun. Obviously, damage numbers need to be worked on.

Until then, I’ll just use the #2 build in Stormclaw and slowly build the sidegear for another Shred build hoping the numbers get tweaked enough in the long run =)

Because when Shred hits 1-2 million he said the stromclaws were hitting 5-10 million frequently. That’s getting in the ballpark.

Is it? One tornado is going to do way more than that in a dense room every time. Its going to hit all the monsters for over a million many times and keep hitting them from far away.

That isnt a big nasty hit for tornado. Thats every hit. From a safe distance.

But you said Shred would have to hit 20M. I’m saying Shred isn’t the big hitter but stormclaw gets close to that number. Just sounded like you didn’t hear him say that in the video. It’s your words, not mine.

Tornado this tornado that, man tired that crap don’t get the amusement of a tornado sitting out there doing nada. Same kinda bluid structure but get lighting storm and you have a demi-god. Still uses nearly all the same aspects and skill tree bonuses . Use particaly the same gear, just swap out the tornado aspect for dancing bolt or the charged strike. To me, this is a blast .

Full melee build with “double dipping” only crits single-target for 1-2m lmao
Meanwhile Tornado or Pulv druids screenclear fully safe while being save and have an actual ability that can procc the luckyhit to reduce grizzly CD.

Shred is so pathetically weak that even if it’s double-dipping it’s still orders of magnitude worse while being the most dangerous to play lmao

When you remove the Dash requement for blurred beast that would give you an insane DMG Boot, the risk is gone and you have a new S Tier build.
Actually When you use Rabies and wait a Short time and Dash you Hit a lot of enemies.

./shrug Yes, we get that it isn’t as good but the build did clear 89 w/o any beneficial mods for the video guy, so call it 90 (rounding) so it is 10% lower difficulty.

I know, I know this is a game so this might be crazy but… efficiency isn’t ALWAYS the #1
concern when playing a game. Crazy… I know

To add… if you’re calling Pulv Druid on a higher level… Maxroll would disagree with you. They put Physical Shred & Pulv in the same tier for Nightmare Dungeons

I don’t think it’d be S-tier because the build still has a few issues - it would be much stronger though so maybe high A-tier instead of low A-tier but I could be wrong.

Just looking at Nightmare Dungeon pushing tier list on Maxroll right now Druid has:
2 - S-tier
2 - A-tier
2 - B-tier

To add… if you’re calling Pulv Druid on a higher level… Maxroll would disagree with you. They put Physical Shred & Pulv in the same tier for Nightmare Dungeons

Maxroll is a horribly maintained website that has an absurd amount of flaws, is outdated, or misses a ton of information.

Even the person in the video has no idea what he is doing, which is totally fine, but you shouldn’t talk about something that you don’t understand with so much confidence.

Still requires you to find the fabled Tempest Roar… 96 and still searching here.
