Should I bother with Torment 4?

Hello, peeps.

I finally beat Pit level 50, and joined Torment 3. I’ve put a couple hours into T3. In all this time, I’ve never had a single mythic drop. I’ve experimented with build and gear. But I’d really like a mythic or two. It is just not happening.

Should I keep trying? Should I go back to BG3 or WoW?

Any insights are welcome!

we dont know official drop numbers, but personally id say the drop rates should be equal. only difference is that higher tier offer more loot. not necessarily better loot mind you.

your first mythic is basically granted. complete the season journey and kill uber lilith on any torment. the other ones you have to farm

i mean, i doubt anyone can answer that. if you enjoy d4 keep playing? if you dont then dont?

im currently at like 16 mythics this season, and its not even close to the end of the season. some other friends got like 25+… so theres that.

Oh, I didn’t know that about Lilith. That’s a great tip! I’ll give it a go.

You are the man! (Or woman!) Thanks for the offer.

I can only tell you my own experience. I think I’ve had about 10 mythic drops or so this season. The first one was from a Helltide chest (in T2 or T3). The rest were all from Tormented bosses in T1.

So yeah, if this is the case, you should just farm wherever is most efficient for you. It’s just a numbers game. Keep hammering at it and eventually you’ll get lucky.

Just wait. I am sure torment 4 will be something totally different every season as they continue to struggle with what vision they have for the game. Is it for dads with 2 hours a week? Is it for hard cores that play 12 hours a day? Who knows? Even Blizzard doesn’t know!

I’ve actually had 2 mythics drop from infernal hordes chests on separate occasions which was surprising but your best bet is doing tormented bosses as much as you can.

Go back to WoW. That’s what I did! More fun and less bugs.

The mythic that dropped for me dropped in Torment 1.
The other one I got from the seasonal quest.

Torment 4 does not guarantee better stuff just more of a certain type that may be useless to you anyway. The mats go up but if you struggle to speed farm in 4, you are probably more efficient in torment 3 for mats also. The one exception is NMD in Torment 4, will be relatively easy compared to everything else and they give obducite, So if you can do those, do them. This is true for any torment level you just get into.

You should play in whatever Tier gives you the most enjoyment or in whatever game gives you the most enjoyment. Doing otherwise is always going to be a losing proposition no matter how many Mythics you find or don’t find.

I’ve found mythics to be easier to obtain than decent GA 800 gear this season. I’ve gotten about 15. Salvaged the useless ones and crafted the ones I needed. I’ve got one on my SB and 5 on my Barb and a few more in stash.

I had my mythics worked out for the barb before I even started leveling him, but he’s still wearing several 750 pieces because nothing useful drops. Not like previous seasons with the GA gear.

I fell back to T2 to farm mythic because I can deal with Lair Bosses more quickly.

While playing as a Sorc without mythic gear, I can still handle T4 Helltides, NMDs, and mobs, but I am unable to clear Undercity quickly enough, which hinders this branch of the game altogether.

I make my own builds,Pit tier 64 is my tops on homemade Barb builds. Drops are the same in T3,not much point struggling with 1 g/a items and low drop rates. I just min/max what it find if all I get is tier 3 who cares Pit is boring anyways.

I tried wow not long ago with the newest update, it felt more like an arpg instead of an MMO and that was with sub optimal gear, was clearing packs of mobs it just felt weird to me

Thanks everyone. Honestly, y’all gave me good pointers, I didn’t know a lot of this stuff.

It depends on what you wanna do if your looking to farm you should play what ever difficulty that you are able to farm the most efficiently on if you looking to push your build you should try to be getting into world tier 4 and higher pits but realistically you should just play what ever difficulty you find enjoyable

right? you should try it as well. Sadly there are often enough situations were genuine questions, or requests, drown in bickering.
