Should Blizzard Nerf HotA Barbs?

What the devs should state is “how there is no one dedicated to testing things”, so this is pretty much how it will always be.

nerf hota, ball lightning and a few more bugged/unintended builds. They should have done that a long time ago.

I worry for changes to overpower with Druid. It’s going to hurt diversity among Druid builds and force people into full bear if they want to play pulverize and back into grizzly rage for the damage ramp. Shapeshifter pulverize was a nice change of pace for the season.

Yea pulverize will take some unnecessary collateral damage with an overpower nerf. Hope they compensate with another scaler somewhere.

why nerf them, just let them have fun

Because balancing something like AoZ around outliers screws the non broken classes/builds.

d3 damages are in QD. Billion crit are 2014 numbers so how do we know it isn’t intended? Like the typo code on BL buff, how do we know it isn’t intended and not an easter egg planting?

Blizzard loves 1 build rules them all. S3 will be some other trillion crit build.

The constant call for nerfs in every game eventually results in us fighting with pool noodles. If a class is stronger than yours then change classes, I agree with the OP that other classes need to be buffed from a wooden stick to a bazooka.

Every Diablo game has it’s seasonal OP class, wait your turn it will come.

Everyone gets a time to shine… Except you minion Necro, maybe in season 47

They need to be nerfed without a doubt. Legions and bosses are so boring when they’re around. Buffing everyone else will eliminate any challenge from the game.

This is exactly why I don’t trust them to make an even remotely balanced game. I’m sure they have real data to support this but our only data is the maxroll contest, Druid is so woefully underrepresented that it’s clear that overpower isn’t the problem. If it was overpower then why don’t we see blood necro topping the list as it has the same or more overpower chances than barb?

Simple observations prove the statements about overpower wrong. How can we take the statement serious when it’s painfully obvious they don’t get it?

But didn’t they say this from the start? I think they said it’s for meta builds before they even released it.

overpower is the problem. because when you overpower crit it isnt 1.5x the overpower its 15x the overpower. blood necroes cant make it as far as barbs because they dont have the defensive capabilities barbs have.

yea meta builds will do best of course. But the power difference between hota and most other is vast. If that and CL would have been reigned in some (while still being the best), the scaling of AoZ could have been less severe, allowing more builds to experience a lot better rate of glyph xp.

I assure you my blood necro isn’t getting 15x overpower damage with a crit. Tested them recently and was getting appropriate amount of crit damage bonus.

So I say again, it’s not overpower that’s the problem, it’s the barbarian.

i assure you it is overpower. hence druids able to do 17bil with overpower crits. necroes also doing insane damage with overpower crits.

Devs already said they were going to “fix” this next season.

I think the D4 team really needs to communicate better and set expectations / frame things up MUCH MUCH earlier.

At this point, questions like this just tells you how disjointed the community is. There’s also quite a few responses from seasoned forum posters that make me concerned that Blizzard just can’t communicate or get the message across effectively.

We’re in a persistent mechanics, bug/ exploit, rebalance every season. This is nothing short of an ongoing beta test. No stable background game environment. If you’re seasonal, it’s definitely a beta test because you just start off fresh with new rules.

If you’re in eternal, it’s just feels like a bad game.

practically i only see barbies in the zyr portal…question why? oh, they are the only ones can play it and druids. AWESOME.

You know, you have to ask yourself why encourage and double down on broken builds by making AOZ in the first place.

Wasn’t / isn’t duriel farm enough?

It makes a person believe that this is where things are going next season. I think this was a mistake.

Is this a by product of allowing a dup exploit to persist all season (if true?).
