Or should they just buff everyone else to the same power level?
Why should builds be nerfed in a season?
Next season something else will be super OP.
Let them have their fun while it lasts.
They should give each of my Necro minions the power of HoTa so I can afk and still win the game!
I never said they had to nerf them this season. Blizzard already said they wonāt. Rather, what philosophy should Blizzard take for next season. Nerf or Buff?
Put the vanpire powers away and many uber-builds are not uber anymore. Who knows what chars and builds will rule S3.
I can do Baal Runs afk in d2 with full party. Fun as hell.
its not hota but overpower. and yes it will be nerfed
But you didnt say not in this season either. Your question is vague and open for interpretation. Also, with the success in AoZ of the HOTA barb, one would assume you meant it to be now.
There will be a big rebalancing patch at the end of the season with the start of season 3. I do not expect Hota and BL etc to be as powerful once the season ends.
I reckon the tibaults will bug will also be fixed. Hopefully more than that bug will be fixed while they are at it, There have been so many bugged abilities this season
ball lightning will be nerfed
overpower will be nerfed
tibaults/condemnation bug will be fixed
xfals will be fixed
im sure there is more but that alone is going to affect 90% of the playerbase
Frankly the game is in a bad state right now.
Thereās one thing having meta builds, but when 1 or 2 builds can one shot or melt world bosses, and the only build at the top of the unofficial AoZ leaderboards is HOTA barbs, they need to do something (I agree, next season).
Having one build that can hit for billions of damage is just crazy and clearly never intended.
But the problem is wider than that. Weāre now talking about progressing using frankly unintended interactions, like snap shotting, animation cancelling and immortality using something like seligs.
It seems like almost every day a new ādiscoveryā is made.
animation canceling is normal and in nearly every game. dont think rapid fire rogues would be happy if you got rid of it
And the majority will be whining. Thereās a lot of folks out there, specially in X, who are expecting these things will stay in S3. So expect a lot of complaints next season.
Iām hoping they seek Balance - not HULK SMASH with Thorās Nerf
I speak of and for BL but this is also for anything strong - Hota etc. The Playstyle Itself which I enjoy. Run and Gun etc.
Balance it? Surely. Of course.
Make sure it stays UP and Viable and not relegated to insignificance through negligent, ham fisted handling of āBalancingā, aka heavy handed Nerfing and āMeta Rotation via Dev Dedicatesā which was what we saw Season after Season in D3 - Dev Dictated Meta Builds.
Keep as MANY Builds as Viable and playable as possible. Screw āTop Fotm by designā
Weāve had that for a Decade.
oh the tears will be raining. but hota and bl expect it. i think the ones that will cry hardest is infinimist necros because they dont think xfals is broken and think they are safe from nerf hammer
I think many people donāt understand how ani cancelling works in this game. I have not bothered to figure it out myself, but there are moments I have done it in the game only to realize after the fact.
From what I can tell it seems to be tied to movement based skills and where they are cast in relation to skills with longer animations. Because D4 does not have an internal GCD on skills or inputs you can use this to your advantage to essentially clip certain animations.
To the untrained eye you might think itās a glitch or lag when your character suddenly snaps into a new position and the whole framing the screen snaps to that location. When this happens and the skills go off, enemies die and hold their position you have successfully ani cancelled. To get precise with it and control exactly how or when that happens is a skill on to itself.
If fun is detected, you can pretty much guarantee it will be a nerf.
At this point itās pretty easy to see what direction we are going in. They even started adding special events just for the OP builds. Iām sure there will be some tweaks next season but I expect that overall there will be more buffs than nerfs.
Personally I just want the game somewhat balanced. It will never be perfect but it can be closer than what weāve had. I want to play builds because I enjoy itās playstyle not because itās the flavor of the month build. But after AoZ itās pretty clear you should just figure out what the most OP build is each season and play that.
Nerf them. OP class in AoZ, OP class in PvP, OP class with Ubers.
XāFal is a new addition and Infinimist can still use pure DoT just like usual.
