Speculation on my part, but it’s probably done on purpose. Have a smaller test force week before the big test. Cap servers to test login ques/stress test and iron out the major bugs before the big test. Advertising it as a selling point is… “ethically challenged”.

But a Queue to get in a early access Beta?
That does not make me very hopeful for official launch frankly.
You paid for the game. The beta access is a free bonus.

Eh, patching 100 servers (I’m totally guessing an #s here) during beta weekend if issues need addressing is hella faster than patching 1000’s of servers DEPENDING on the patch needed to address whatever they find. But I tend to agree that they have the capacity dialed up to max or beyond for stress testing reasons and seeing how the back end databases and netcode react. Obviously they WANT it to work with no issues, but that’s not the real world most of the time.
Waiting over an hour to be meet with a Timeout error then have to endure another 107min que time to yet again make it to 1 min left and get another timeout to yet again be put back into a 97 min que time No thanks If the actual game is this way I will never ever buy/play another blizzard product.
When June 6th gets here, then your argument would be viable, until then it’s moot.

This is exactly why those complaining about early access to the game have nothing to complain about. All of us that pre-ordered the game aren’t getting any advantages over those that do not. We all signed up in hopes we get a head start but for most of us, reality kicks in and we know what’s coming.
Just refund the game if you’re having issues, if it’s fixed by the open weekend you can always buy it before release to get all the benefits. And if they don’t they’ve made their stance clear.

That the reason they told “if you can lvl your character at 20 you will get that… and if you can lvl 25 you cant take more” hah. This is the answer. Lilith for this round is the scorer.

All of this was to be expected. I am not disheartened like many here. I will wait patiently and I am confident I will get in at some point.

I See people saying its beta bla bla, but they have had 20 years of this same process with wow and diablo and other games they have created. This shouldnt be a thing, its not new !!
Rough start. Got to play a bit, then kicked out. Now in a 74 minute queue. Afraid that what I did may have been lost. During Beta, item loss is expected. However, it does show integrity of servers that Blizzard has setup. And that is hurting the confidence levels. They’ve been hyping the heck out of the game, better have it stable.
Can’t get past char creation page, suggested fix was to restart and wait another hour. Really?
100% agree with this. I think this tactic should be class action lawsuited. It’s 100% unethical to market/sell early access betas as part of a purchased bundle and have long queues to get in. I sat in a 2 hour queue, got disconnected and back into another hour long queue. Obviously going to just walk away now but this isn’t even prime time.
I hope blizzard gets lawsuited for this. Before anyone says “blah blah, beta, blah blah”. That’s fine, but it is not acceptable to allow access as a purchased product for 3 days and then make it impossible to get in due to unwilling to scale the server farm big enough to handle the load. This is 100% unethical.

yeah I’m not surprised. I paid $103CAD total for the STANDARD edition and this is what I get.
“Authentication pending” after an hour queue. I’m sure it’s about to reset.
Contact support, they’ll refund you happily. Less ppl in the queue for me.
