Season appears to be over for 70-75% of people already

No, it means if you randomly selected 1000 people that played VoH, by asking them you could guess with some acceptable margin of error what is general opinion about VoH.

None of these things are the reason for the numbers to fall.
The reason it falls down is because :

  1. we all know we will nevet get our Best in Slot items so there is no point farming for it. (Between low ancestral rates, hard to get aspects, tempering etc)
  2. there is no leaderboard. Once you can farm wt4 there is nothing left to aim for. Pit? Meh.
  3. Spiritborn is OP and led to my second point being too easy.

And honestly…none of this is a bad thing. Being able to be done with a season in a month is good.

The reasons you wrote are the reasons I also perceive to be responsible. I didn’t think about leaderboards actually.

But I also think that people just give up, because they know they WON’T get what they want, even if they nolifed through entire season - and what’s more, there is no reason for something like that as only endgame is the pit.

This above + Spiritborn trivializes the game to the point where you have no challenges even when wearing dirty rags, so not only you won’t find BiS - there is even no point in looking for it, you won already by playing “correct” class.

There is some limit for people to bear through the grind for no reason. And we really lack reasons in S6.

For me personally, I’m about 80 hours into the season, today is the first day I won’t login. I think I’m paragon 240, no reason for me to grind to 300. I haven’t found an upgrade in a week after countless hours of various activities. The end game loop is still very much lacking, something I’ve mentioned in every survey or chance I get. Compared to other games in the genre that are seasonal, I put in 150-250+ hours a season.

Need your definition of a neckbeard plz.

yeah, because activision is only interested in sales instead of the Genuine art of gaming that keeps people engaged. these same faults happened in Diablo 3. PVP brought alot of D2 players back, we were promised many things and got let down. the end game was tossed out the door and recreated into what made D3 fail in its beginning. content over all from launch was no more than what was in the beta minus the paragon levels that got meshed in with regular levels and it took activision 4 seasons to correct it. its like EA… they create unfinished game and fix it later based on what the community says and still does their own thing.

Plays for long periods of time every day.

I haven’t counted exactly 1000 people but the majority I have seen in X and YouTube like the game. I have a gut feel if I randomly select a bunch of comments, I would at least get 1000 people who did like the game

If they do this, the already low numbers would plummet even further.

That’s why I wrote that they had short window of time where only streamers and other nolifers knew about this - and could patch it before other people even got there, so they wouldn’t even notice. Now it’s too late.

To be honest this game appears to be so popular that I cannot even find anything interesting on YT that has more than few thousand views. YT doesn’t even know what to advise me even if I try to find something regarding D4 on purpose. There are not many content creators or people just don’t care. Or actually both, because when people don’t care - you won’t have many content creators. Honestly the only genuinely popular youtuber that does D4 content appears to be Rax.

Let’s presume that this is true, that the season is over for the majority of players.

Most of the complaints on this forum that I’ve seen are things are too slow.

But you bring up the idea that the season is over for the majority of players.

So to accede to the playerbase here, which would speed things up, would only shorten the seasons no?

You need to pick one.

People wanted fewer affixes so now there are fewer affixes.

People wanted less RNG and more craftability so now that is there.

People wanted a tighter control over stats and to remove gem effects so that’s done.

It’s becoming more and more streamlined so even if they fix the bugs mentioned you’re still achieving a faster and faster season.

This should be expected if they keep doing as you ask. You should be overjoyed! The demands for a streamlined game are coming online and of course that means … shorter seasons.

No. Because this season you could totally remove any progression by playing Spiritborn and taking any meta build.

Most of the people play SB, it actually feels like this is only playable class this season because I only see SB in-game, so most of the people leaving would be SB players. And they leave probably because they won everything already and don’t even need anything more for that. I know two guys who left the game already because of that, and both were playing SB. They were “done” with the game after two first weeks lol.

So for SB players you can finish season in first two weeks and for all the rest they may not reach full potential even when no lifing through entire season because multiple layers of RNG will just not let them.

Lol? Where is it? Are we playing the same game? Crafting is still RNG upon RNG upon RNG upon RNG with A LOT of grind in between and ability to brick items.

There is sweetspot between too fast and too slow. SB showed how “too fast” looks. And everybody else is experiencing “too slow”. It’s even funny how both of these can exist in the same time.

D4 devs made it clear they wont spend time balancing the game, but only to do minor changes… the game is already dead as it is. when they do things like make a class OP even its on bugs, it was intentional. its all a marketing ploy for sales… they really dont care about the gamers perspective. otherwise, we would have had a balanced game at launch and a Endgame for players to enjoy which was and should have been PVP like it was in diablo 2 Lod and D4 could have had battlemodes like World of warcrafts Battlegrounds.

The main problem I see is they developed things over several seasons to nudge players towards season longevity through longer progression arches but intentionally allowed Cringeborn to totally obliviate and invalidate all content. You can’t have both.

I dont understand why that is still amazing to people. There were bugs from launch, still in the game a year later.

lmao season 2 got more peak viewers than a whole new expansion. brooooo what? lol

People are quitting because everything is so easy to acquire and you’ve pretty much seen all the content the game has to offer 1 week in. Keep grinding for a 2ga item, for what? There’s nothing you can’t do with random 1ga gear in every slot.

And this is what people asked for. Whenever they’ve attempted to not let you finish your build in 1 week, people complain that it’s too hard or grindy or whatever.

Well, this I didn’t catch actually.

It proves further that VoH didn’t do too well. Actually most of the player reviews are pretty harsh. Mixed score on Steam and 3.9 on Metacritic. These reviews certainly impact people’s will to get interested with the title.

That’s only true for Spiritborn. For me this 2GA item may be +1 pit level more, which is quite significant uplift. But I’m not gonna find that 2GA anyway.

But yeah, this game is missing at least 1 torment level more, maybe even 2 of them. Normal content is too easy to trivialize and pit is only thing worth playing for. And for those that play for the pit these droprates suck hard.

The one thing that kills a season early is only having 1 good class and 1 great build. I get making sure new class is tops. when every other class is so badly broken {and not in a good way} and t3 is literally the best they can run, the longevity of a season goes into the toilet cause it’s an in vein task to lvl and gear something that isn’t worth the time or effort.

yeah, i saw the reviews on steam… pretty laughable considering that blizzad made a statue in honor of making over a billion in sales. i’d probably buy the expansion but ONLY if they expand the camera’s distance by 50% to make the game playable like it is in Diablo 2 and Diablo 3… but, with POE2 around the corner. i dont see the point in investing time into Diablo 4 again like i did at launch and all of its half cooked ideas and Depressing Beta content.

They won’t fix anything until next season. Take a vacation and play something else until then. :sunglasses:
