Season 8 top worst things coming in Season 8 (video from Slaydra D4 partner)

Slaydra is one of my favorite D4 partner / streamer content creator. Majority of the things he talk about, and opinion just speaks to me and to my mind. He will be sending these directly to the developers hopefully things will change for the better. Here is the list Slaydra shared which are top worst things coming in S8 - which I completely agree with.

  1. Pit100 is impossible for lots of builds (even with para 300, lvl 100 glyphs
  2. yellow and blue still useless
  3. less loot (which also means less high rolled aspects)
  4. Less XP (not bad for hardcore players, but hurts casuals)
  5. If you don’t have MASSIVE scalers in boss powers you are OMEGA nerfed
  6. Ultimate MEGA nerfed (capped 200X). (but why make a new Necro sword based off of ultimate ? Useless much ? ) - Ultimate was finally in a good place this season, and now they are back to being useless.
  7. Tempering / MW still frustrating slot machine
  8. Lots of mythics still trash for endgame
  9. MUST PLAY META (fun builds won’t even level glyphs, if nothing is changing going live into S8)
  10. Nothing matters till GA drops
  11. Cannot share boss mats
  12. All the powers are at the end of game (good ones, need to kill belial, lilith etc, other powers are so weak)

Majority of these are terrible in my mind as well… not to mention that currently only 50% of the players made it to T4, and they want to cut that down to 10% ? with everything being harder, and more frustrating to obtain, how is that move going to help players retention at all ?

Blizzard, some of your D4 partner like Slaydra for example, represent a massive amount of your playerbase. Please ensure prior to S8 launch, some if not all of these concerns get a pass and looked at, and hopefully addressed.

Thank you.

K this is blizz balancing issue

They are mats, they dont need another purpose

This is good

Between lv 1-25 takes slight amout longer

Lets hope powers are reduced and balanced. Takes away from build identity

Needed to be done - balance is good

Wecome to basic arpgs. Only frustrating if you feel entitled or dont understand tempering completes an incomplete item

Some could use some love but they shouldnt be overpowering to the point they overshadow everything else

Naw, you dont need to play meta a C tier build is capable of T4. Now lets hope blizzard snuffs out unintended interactions immediately

Well not exactly, there is progression before 60. Mind you not a lot as it doesnt take long to get to 60.

They are tradable so dont know what your talking about

So the game has a sense of progression… this is a good thing.

Ok good to know

S7 was the easiest season. If 50% of players didnt make it, its likely because they quit before reaching 60. S8 T4 is equivalent to S7 pit 76 which isnt hard and can be done with a C tier build but you still need to progress and get gear.

If someone decides to play on a lower difficulty because they want to thats what they are there for.

Maybe they are making these changes because S7 had terrible retention. Most were done in under 2 weeks of the season releasing. I myself was done in 10 days.

Yes, they can do a better job with balancing boss powers which is the biggest issue S8 PTR has.

this slaydra dude always provides sensible, valid suggestions on his youtube.

but too bad blizzard prefers to take advice from youtubers who keep saying insane, nuts, crazy, fart, spin2win … leading to either overly nerfing or buffing the season.

true.

But to your point, the one providing insane, nuts, crazy fart, spin2win infinity dmg ones are sometimes just fun to watch . And not to mention that likely provided blizz with the bug interactions which needed to be fixed.

But after watching Slaydra for sometime now, I think he definitely represent a pool of player base that is playing this game. I think that pool is pretty big, though again I don’t have data to back that up. But in any case, there is also a pool of player base that I can see which completely falls on opposite end of the spectrum/ Such as Lazyloaf above lol

I just found Slaydra recently. When it comes to the softcore crowd, I normally would watch Raxx or Rob. Particularly Rob, due to the fact that he consistently makes game breaking builds.

As a Hardcore player, my preferred content creator is Wudijo. He is a fellow Hardcore player/streamer.

he reads reddit, forums, and experiences the game himself to consolidate his points. a truly competent partner.

Rob is fun to watch. But be cautious with using his builds, it is likely bugged and gets fixed during patching.

Wudi , Raxx , Macro are all cool to watch. Essentially your maxroll team. And they are all D4 partners which can share feedback directly to the developers. Though they are hardcore streamers, their feedback often will include the casual players and keeping casuals, blasters in mind, which is very welcomed in my opinion,

Raxx is a pretty hardcore blaster himself.

It’s good that a lot of things are being pointed out.

So the ball is in Blizzard’s court. Will have they have had a PTR for no reason? Or will they make adjustments. We will see.

No self respecting content creator reads these forums, I demand proof good sir.

Hate to break it to you guys but the reason why the cc’s can make videos that hit the matters you feel that are most important is precisely because they read the forums and are farming the most significant information to then compile and publish in succint video form that are more easily digestible by people who don’t want to spend their free time on the forums.

No, he consistently copies other people’s builds and shares them on his channel. This mofaka is always pretending like he came up with something, but he’s just plagiarizing the asian content creators.

I played/tested the PTR with a non-META setup without boss powers and was able to get up to T80, so I find it hard take people seriously who say it’s impossible or that casuals are omega nerfed.

So this makes me dismiss the feedback as credible:
> MUST PLAY META (fun builds won’t even level glyphs, if nothing is changing going live into S8)

And many of these people saying that, took their S7 builds… made NO changes to it, and basically said LOOK SEE IT’S SO BAD NOW in S8. Without re-adjusting anything for some of the re-distributed power (I’m talking about non-boss-power things).

And I personally used quite a bit of yellow gear in my leveling phase and a few blues.

Streamers are interested in people watching them play. And tend to stir fake drama when game changes make the game play less exciting to spectate.

You finished the season in 10 days ? Meaning?
You hit paragon 300? you cleared a 150 ? did you rank on the leaderboard?
Wait…you mean you finished the season quest and got the bird pet and few cosmetics and then you got bored?
I’m sorry to let you in a little secret…most of us hardcore players don’t really care about pets and season cosmetics.
This was a great season. Not to brag or anything lol…but here is what I did this season.

  1. paragon 300
  2. RoA rogue rank 30 on leader board
  3. druid cleared a 140
  4. necro cleared a 150
and to be honest with you I’m sad season 7 is almost over cause I was having a blast.
Obviously I didn’t play for season cosmetics, like some folks, or I would have been finished in 24h.
Before some of you guys decide to tell us how this game should be played…please show us you accomplishment.
Because I’m certainly not going to listen to some players that quit the game after they got the pet and hit paragon 200.

I think your in the wrong game fourm there hasnt been leaderbords for a while now. Guantlet is closed. I can see tho how ppl play S7 D4 and immediately think its D3.

If I wanted to do the grind to 300 again Id do it. I stopped at 270 this season but maybe when they give something better then boaring linear GR/pit ill be motivated. There is nothing hardcore about doing 1-2 min pit runs a couple 1000s of time.

Pit 145 was fine for S7 it was boring af, hopfully with the changes the game starts moving away from an basic arcade blaster and more into an arpg path.

Ok good for you. Your “hardcore”. Maybe you shouldnt be playing D4 and move to PoE. There is nothing “hardcore” about D4.

D4 is sadly D3 now but lets hope that S8 brings some positive change.

I see what you did there

Lol believe what you like, but it wasn’t hard to test. I actually recorded my T78 run, but then deleted it when I was batch-deleting my older already-uploaded files.

And if I was running through T100 in under 6 mins with the boss powers using an off-META. Is it really hard to envision T80 without them?

Ummm… there is a community one where people submit there clips.

Ill wait for an in game system. I honestly did like guantlet tho to bad they didnt refine it but it really did fail because of the lack of armory. I was making 2 of the same classes each season so I didnt need to respec.

Whether you will wait for an official one or not, there is one that much of the community now uses for that ladder.

The issue blizzard would have with implementing something like that is it would be hard to have the functionality a community website has; like linking complete build-specs, run clips, etc. Which is honestly more useful to the community.

Not to mention the turn-around time for clean-up if it’s decided a rampantly exploited bug etc is to be excluded from the rankings. Abuse of exploits can invalidate the in-game rankings pretty quickly due to how long blizzard would take to remedy that, if at all.
